The Sun in Pisces (General)

Pisces is the 12th and last sign of the zodiac, so when the Sun enters Pisces it signals the end of one cycle and the coming beginning of a new cycle ---when the Sun enters Aries. I feel that the ingress of the Sun in Pisces heralds an emotional spring cleaning that precedes the physical one that traditionally occurs in our environment after the Sun enters Aries in late March.

Our interest turns to things of the spirit and our attention turns inward. We become focused on subconscious issues and immerse ourselves in dealing with our emotional baggage. The Sun in Pisces shines the light on the desire to seek out the truth and to be satisfied with what is found in the darkest corners of our psyches. You may find yourself listening more to your intuition as well as paying more attention to your dreams for signs and omens. Your sensitivity to these subtle energies results in heightened empathy and you exercise more compassion not only in dealing with yourself but also those around you.

How the Sun in Pisces Affects You

The Sun, the energy of self-identity, in Pisces will manifest as vague, romantic, and intuitive. Finally, the house that the planet transits will determine where this energy will manifest in your life. In order to determine the house that the Sun in Pisces is transiting you look at your birth chart and determine what house aligns with Pisces. For example.

The Sun in Pisces and the 5th House of love, children, and creativity can manifest as vague, romantic feelings about love and romance. The Sun is happiest in the 5th house because this house is ruled by Leo which is also ruled by the Sun. You want to believe that love is possible. You want to believe that you are loved and loving but you have some emotional baggage and / or subconscious blocks that you must confront before you can really enjoy yourself.

On the flip side, you might try to socialize more and surround yourself with people in order to attract more attention to yourself in order to avoid confronting and healing your subconscious issues.  Alternately, you may also take up a new hobby as a distraction from your issues. If you have a history with addiction, such as gambling, you might want to be careful not to fall off the wagon.

Aspects

Aspects, or the relationship between planets is another dimension of Astrological interpretation that should be considered. For example. The Sun at 0° Pisces is applying a trine my natal Venus at 2° Scorpio - this is an easy aspect to spot because Pisces and Scorpio are water signs. A Trine is a type of soft (easy) aspect in which the energy of one planet is supports the urge of another planets.

With the transit Sun trines your Natal Venus you can be more affectionate and romantic now. You feel more attractive, charming, and social and want to get out, do things, and meet people. Your relationships with others, especially women, will be more harmonious and enjoyable. This is a good time to make first impressions and expressing yourself more creatively. Venus not only rules love, but also money so this is a good time to use your charm and charisma to increase your money drawing power.

Full Moon in Leo (General)

With the Full Moon transiting the area that rules love, children, and creativity- people's confidence increases and they feel flirty and playful. They may have the urge to express themselves in big, dramatic gestures and they may want more attention that usual from others. They are also willing to go to extra lengths to get the attention and interest that they are craving. If you have children, this is a good time to spend some quality time with them.

The Big Picture

A Full Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon occupy the same degree of opposite signs of the zodiac. As you can see from the chart above, the Moon is at 27° Leo and the Sun is at 27° Aquarius forming an opposition creating a dynamic of challenging one another; something is being split or divided

Leo is a proud, possessive, and territorial sign; while Aquarius is detached and altruistic. So we have a dynamic here of Me vs. Them or what I want in opposition to what we need. Full Moons are thought to bring completion or endings and with the possessiveness of that Leo energy at play here this can sometimes feel like someone is taking something away from us or depriving us of something. This is a pattern we can see play out or a large scale by watching the news, paying attention to what is going on social media and in the lives of our family and friends; or on a small scale by examining our own natal charts to see where the Full Moon is taking place there.

The Personal Touch

To understand how the Full Moon in Leo affects us an individual's we need to see where 27° Leo is in our own natal charts. For example, 27° Leo in my natal chart is on the cusp of the 10th House, which is known as the public sector of our charts. One-hundred and eighty degrees across from the 10th house is the 4th house where the Sun is transiting at 27° Aquarius.   With the 10th house vs 4th house dynamic at play, I may feel a divide between my public and private aspects of my life. It could indicate that career and reputation is at odds with my root sand traditions.

Aspects

Aspects, or relationships between planets, is another dimension of astrological interpretation that should be considered. For example, in my own chart the transit moon at 27° Leo is applying a trine to my natal moon at 29° Aries - this is an easy aspect to recognize because both Leo and Aries are fire signs. When the transit moon forms a trine to one's natal moon you find that your emotions are more balanced. The safety of home and family is more valued, and you tend to not take any risks.

Mercury is said to be exalted in Aquarius, meaning that it is more powerful. When Mercury (I Think) is in Aquarius (I Know) people are, generally, more altruistic, rebellious, and detached. They may exhibit original thoughts and ideas and think more about the future. People are more likely to get involves in groups and causes, usually of a humanitarian nature.

Where Aquarius falls in your Natal, or Birth, Chart is the area of life where you will exhibit original, even rebellious, thoughts and ideas.

When Mercury is in Aquarius and the 4th house you exhibit original and unconventional thoughts and ideas about your home, and family traditions. You may toy with the idea of making physical or cosmetic changes to your home or living environment that makes it more unique and reflective of your personality. The 4th house is ruled by the Moon, so it is possible that your emotions could cloud you thinking and so you may draw upon like-minded people to for advice or direction.

Aspects

Aspects, or relationships, between transit Mercury and planets in your natal chart should also be considered. For example, in my birth chart Mercury at 0° Aquarius is making is applying (approaching) a conjunction to my natal Jupiter at 4°Aquarius. A conjunction is a type of aspect wherein the energies of two (or more) planets become so blended that it is difficult to distinguish one from the other.

When Jupiter (I expand) conjuncts (blends) with Mercury (I think) your thoughts, ideas and perspective is expanded. You may think more positive thoughts, in fact, you may have a hard time accepting or dealing with anything considered negative because you believe it will just "work out".  However, your mind is more receptive to thoughts, ideas, and information that helps you grow so this is a good time to learn something new.

Mercury Direct at 24° Capricorn

 

Mercury Direct at 24° Capricorn 2/3/22 8:13 PM PST Natural Chart / Whole Houses

Mercury stations direct this evening at 8:13 PM Pacific Standard Time. Although this represents the end of Mercury Retrograde, it is actually the beginning of the post-shadow period.

The post-shadow period is that period of time in which we put the lessons that we learned during Mercury Retrograde to use. If we learned our lessons, things should go well. If not, we are doomed to repeat them again.

The post-shadow period ends on 2/23/22 at 9:55 AM PST when Mercury catches back up to10° Aquarius which is the point at which he originally went retrograde in the first place.
