A New Moon occurs when both the Sun and the Moon simultaneously occupy the same degree of the same sign in the zodiac. As you can see from the above chart, the Sun and Moon both occupy 22° Aries making this a new moon.

How to Work with New Moon in Aries Energy

• Finish old projects before starting new ones. 
• Take a personal inventory of self and choose one aspect of your personality you don't like and make an effort to eliminate that quality,  mode of thought or behavior. 
•  Decide what you like about yourself and work on expanding and accentuating those qualities. 
• Spend some time on self-care, whatever that means to you. Get your hair or nails done, treat yourself to a nice meal, buy a new outfit.  
• Take your relationships to the next level or break if off completely if you don't think it's going to go anywhere. 
• Let go of the past.

When the Moon is in Aries people feel more energetic, confident, and assertive. They can be more impatient and crave change. Since Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, this is a good time for beginnings and starting new things. When the Moon is in Aries people are generally more courageous, assertive, and imaginative.  They can be forceful and rely on themselves more than usual (perhaps too much).  However, they can be more argumentative as well and so butt heads with others if they are not able to keep their cool (Aries is a fire sign that rules the head so the term hot-headed applies here).  

The Astrological House in which the New Moon occurs in your Natal Chart gives an indication of the area of life activated by the New Moon and where you can expect to see the energy of the New Moon in Aries to play out. Since the New Moon occurs in 22° Aries, you would look at your Natal, or Birth Chart, to ascertain in what House 22° Aries occurs.

New Moon in Aries and the 6th House 

With the Moon in Aries and the 6th House ruled by Virgo you may be feeling more critical at this time and see problems everywhere - problems that need to be corrected. You want to get more organized in your work, streamline your processes, and make your self as efficient as possible. If you are not able to make these changes at work, this may also be a good time to look for a new job that is more in harmony with the way you like to work. This is also a good time to change or refine your diet or exercise routine.

Aspects, or relationships between planets are another dimension of astrological interpretation that should be considered.  For example if, as in my case, your Natal Uranus is in 21° Libra this means that the New Moon (and sun) is making an almost exact opposition to my natal Uranus. This could manifest as unexpected changes that can make me feel uncomfortable or which I resist simply for the sake of being rebellious.

They may show themselves to be more clever, inventive, and changeable.  When Mercury is in Aries, people generally take a more mental approach to situations. They are overflowing with thoughts and ideas and they are more than willing to discuss them with others.  They tend to stay mentally active and busy going from one project to another rather quickly and may find that they start many projects but fail to finish them.  Frustration may result from an inability to bring thought and ideas into reality.

The Sun / Moon Opposition

A Full Moon occurs when the Sun and the Moon are exactly 180° apart forming an opposition. As you can see from the chart above the Sun is at 8­° Aries and the Moon is at 8° Libra making this a Full Moon. An opposition is a type of aspect in which the energy or urge of one planet is at odds with the energy or urge of another planet. You feel like someone is doing something to you and you feel powerless to do anything about it. 

Me vs. We 

When the Sun in Aries makes an opposition to the Moon in Libra our urge to assert ourselves, to be aggressive, pioneering, and adventurous is at odds with our urge to be more considerate of others, to exercise diplomacy, and to keep the peace. 

The Full Libra Moon 

Whereas a New Moon brings new opportunities and new beginnings, a Full Moon brings completion and endings. With the Full Moon transiting the area of our charts that rules over marriage, agreements, and partnerships the urge to assess our relationships becomes a priority. We must decide if we are getting what we need out of our relationships, but more importantly are we giving our partners what they need as well.  If a compromise, or balance, cannot be achieved then it may be time to end the relationship to make room for something better. If you are single, the Full Moon in Libra can possibly bring new opportunity to make a connection with someone else and enjoy greater intimacy. 

How to Work with Full Moon in Libra Energy

•  practice more compromise and diplomacy 
•  surprise your partner with a special "date night".

This would mean that the Full Moon at 8° Libra is separating a conjunction to your Natal Uranus, that is they are moving father away from each other.  Let us break it down.

However, Venus is said to be in detriment in Aries that is, its energy is diminished. So whereas people are more affectionate they may not be so lucky in the area of love and romance.

Transit Venus is making a conjunction with the Transit Sun, and they will be exact on March 25th.  This can be a good time for love and romance.  

How Venus in Aries Affects You

Venus in Aries can manifest as aggressive and fearless expressions of love and attraction. You can either be the aggressor or the object of such assertiveness.  Finally the house that the planet transits will determine where this energy will manifest in your life. In order to determine the house that Venus in Aries is transiting you look at your birth chart and determine what house aligns with Aries. For example.

The sixth house is naturally aligned with Virgo and so you will not fall for anyone too easily. You may adopt the same attitude towards romantic relationships that you take to finding a job.  You may find yourself being critical of anyone who shows interest in you, assessing them to determine that they pass your inspection and meet your criteria. 

Since the 6th house rules over health and work, this can be a period of time in which you are more energetic and impatient in terms of how you do your work and go about your daily routine. You can also renew your effort to get healthier by giving more attention, interest, and energy to your diet and exercise routine.

A square is a type of aspect in which creates tension between the urges of two planets. Since the slower planet usually makes the greater impact on the faster planet, let us break it down like so.

Saturn casts a gloomy mood over Venus, and you can be more cynical about love now. However, Saturn can also let you see your relationships more as they are and less than the way you want them to be. If you have a partner, communication with him or her can be difficult now and you may find yourself having arguments or disagreements. This may be necessary, however, to air your respective grievances so that they can be dealt with and not allowed to fester. Venus just wants to have relax, have fun, and be comfortable but with Saturn making a square to it you may not be able to feel relaxed or comfortable. You may feel that you have too many responsibilities. You'll have to put in more of an effort to get along with anyone who can hold your accountable for your obligations and responsibilities.

The ingress of the Sun into Aries marks the transition from Winter to Spring so this is a great time of beginnings of all kinds.  When the Sun is in Aries, people are generally more bold, restless, and enterprising.  They are more inclined to explore, to be contrary, and to be stubborn.

Aspects, or relationships between planets, is another dimensions of astrological interpretation that should be considered. In this case we would look at the aspects between the transit Sun in 0° Aries and those planets in your natal chart. 

For example, let us say that you have Saturn in 3° Cancer, which is 93­° away from the Sun at 0° Aries making it a square. A square is a type of aspect in which the energy of one planet is creating tension with the energy or urge of another planet. 

Transit Sun + Square +  Natal Saturn  =  I am creates tension with I achieve. 

With the transit Sun (identity) making a square to Saturn (discipline), you may feel more undisciplined and lack control over yourself. You may feel more insecure and question yourself to the point that you don't feel comfortable making decisions for yourself (especially important ones).  You will need to take steps to overcome feelings of not being "enough".
