On the Use of Astro-Dice
Astrodice are three 12-sided dice on which are engraved various astrological symbols. One die is marked with the symbols for the 10 planets, plus the North and South Node; one die is marked with the 12 signs of the zodiac; and the last die is marked with the 12 houses.
To use them, the dice are shaken up, either in one's hand or some kind of container such as a dice cup, and then thrown on a flat surface. The resulting throw is interpreted by Planet, Sign, and House.
Manner of Interpretation
As has been stated elsewhere in this blog, Planets represent what is happening, Signs represent how it is happening, and Houses represent where it is happening. Interpretation occurs in two steps. They are:
- Using your keyword system string together a basic, though somewhat contrived, sentence.
- Refine and translate your sentence into a clearer, more causal or conversational tone.
Example # 1
Sun + Libra + 2nd House
- My power and authority is used diplomatically in the area of money and material matters
- You are a diplomatic, peace-keeper and people-pleaser who vacillates when it comes to making decisions about money or values. You tend to err on the side of caution and take the safe route, that is, the tried and true over anything too risky. However, you still tend to question if you made the "right" decision.
Example # 2
Venus + Scorpio + 9th House
- Your urge to love and be loved is deep and intense when dealing with matters of freedom, higher ethics, and education.
- You tend to become intensely and passionately attracted to anyone who can give you the opportunity to expand your horizons and expose you to new ideas, new cultures, and new people. You may sometimes confuse sex with love and vice versa.
Astrodice are an excellent tool for the new student to astrology to practice his or her interpretation skills. However, they may also be used as an oracle in and of themselves by simply thinking of a question, throwing the dice, and interpreting the results.
Let's ask a question relating to current events and divine our answer. For example: Will Donald Trump be impeached?
The Moon + Gemini + 1 House
The moon represents our emotional urges. Gemini is the sign of trickery and division, and finally the first house relates to self and how we present ourselves to the world as well as how we are seen by the world. This combination points to a personality that is emotionally unstable, restless, and wishy-washy. The subject is prone to contradictory statements, deception, and chicanery and this is who he will be seen and perceived by the world at large. Based on this combination I would venture to say that Donald Trump's misdeeds will become known and, under this scrutiny, he will be his own worst enemy.
