Moon in Cancer

Natural Chart / Whole Houses
Note: Last year, I didn't really cover the transits of the moon other than it's relationship to other planets and positions in the form of aspects. This year, I will be covering the Moon's journey through the zodiac at the rate of one sign per month in the natural order.
Moon in Cancer (General)
The Moon makes a full circuit through the zodiac once every 28 1/2 days spending about 2.5 days in each sign. It's mantra is I FEEL and some keywords associated with it include, but are not limited to, childhood, cycles, emotions, feelings, habits, home, change, instincts, mother, passive, subconscious. nurturing, and imagination. The Moon rules Cancer, is Exalted in Taurus, in fall in Scorpio, and Detriment in Capricorn (see essential dignity).
The Moon is at home in Cancer because it rules Cancer. Both their mantras are I FEEL. When the moon is in Cancer people are more emotional, sensitive, and sentimental. They are more likely to stay at home now, nurturing theirselves and their loved ones, cooking, cleaning, eating. They may be more introspective and spend more time in self-evaulation. They are quiter than usual and more private about their thoughts and feelings. Such isolation isn't always healthy, especially if you are not built for it. Luckily this transit only last about two days. During this time, people can exhibit more emotionally needy behavior.
The house where Cancer Falls in your natal Chart is the area of life that you will feel more emotional about. For example.
- If your rising sign is Aries, Cancer is your 4th House.
- If your rising sign is Taurus, Cancer is your 3rd House.
- If your rising sign is Gemini, Cancer is your 2nd House.
- If your rising sign is Cancer, Cancer is your 1st House.
- If your rising sign is Leo, Cancer is your 12th House.
- If your rising sign is Virgo, Cancer is your 11th House.
- If your rising sign is Libra, Cancer is your 10th House.
- If your rising sign is Scorpio, Cancer is your 9th House.
- If your rising sign is Sagittarius, Cancer is your 8th House.
- If your rising sign is Capricorn, Cancer is your 7th House.
- If your rising sign is Aquarius, Cancer is your 6th House.
- If your rising sign is Pisces, Cancer is your 5th House.
Example
Moon in Cancer and the 9th House
I feel emotional about my sense of freedom and adventure.
When the moon is in Cancer and the 9th house, you feel adventurouse. With social distancing in place, you may feel a strong urge to get out of the house, to explore, to get away, to have an adventure. You simply want freedom. If you can't physically get away, you may explore the world by looking at pictures online, or reading books about foreign places or travel. You can let go of the burden of responsibilities and expectations now, you're less serious and more optimistic. You can be more defensive about your beliefs and opinions. You may become more interested in your own evolving spiritual growth and development.
Aspects
Aspects are another dimension of astrological interpretation. Let us suppose then that you have Saturn in 3° Cancer, then the Transit Moon would be applying a conjunction to your Natal Saturn. A conjunction is a type of neutral aspect in which the energy or urge of one planet blends with the energy or urge of another planet and you can no longer tell them apart.
When the Transit Moon makes a conjunction to Natal Saturn you have more control over your emotions and will not allow yourself to be controlled by them. Your ability to make decisions is better now because you make them based on facts not feelings. You have a more realistic perspective now.
Where does Cancer fall in your chart and how will the ingress of the moon in Cancer manifest for you?
