Full Moon in Cancer 2020 X 2

Full Moon in Cancer
12/29/20  7:28 PM Pacific
Natural Chart / Whole Houses

A Full Moon occurs when the Sun and the Moon occupy the same degree of opposing signs. As you can see from the chart above the Moon is in 8° Cancer and the Sun is 180° away in 8° Capricorn forming an opposition and making this a Full Moon.

 The Big Picture

An opposition is a type of aspect between two planets in which they are pulling away from one another. In an individuals chart it often feels like someone is doing something to you and you feel powerless to do anything about it. In this natural chart above, the moon is transiting the area of the chart dealing with home, our roots, where you live, your property, and subconscious while the Sun is transiting the part of our chart dealing with status, authority figures, our career, and ambition.... in other words: our private lives vs. public perception.

Whereas New Moons often bring a new beginning or a new opportunity, a Full Moon bring completion and endings.  Cancer is a Cardinal sign, and cardinal signs are the leaders of the zodiac. They have a great deal of energy and enjoy starting things and need a lot of action in their lives or they get bored and restless. A Full Moon in the Cardinal sign of cancer can manifest as endings surrounding the home. This is a good time to finish home projects, or resolving a family matter.  If you have been spending too much time at home or at work, now is also a good time to balance your time and energy between the two.

How to Work with Full Cancer Moon Energy

  • exercise more empathy and compassion
  • try to be less sensitive to criticism
  • allow yourself and others to experience their emotions without judgement
  • understand that feeling (yours or another's) are valid whether you agree or disagree with them.
  • check in with your mother and older, female relatives
  • revisit and heal your past
  • finish up any home projects
  • resolve family matters

The Personal Touch

To better understand how the Full Cancer Moon will manifest for you, you need to examine the houses that 8° Cancer and Capricorn occupy in your Natal or Birth Chart.  The area of life represented by your Cancer house is the area of life where you will feel the need to nurture, while the area of life represented by your Capricorn house is the area of life which may interfere with your ability to nurture your Cancer house. For example, 8° Cancer falls in my 9th house and 8° Capricorn falls in my 3rd house.

Let's break it down....

Full Moon + Cancer + 9th House

I feel the need to nurture and protect my freedom and independence.

VS.

Sun + Capricorn + 3rd House

I am reliable and discipline in my self-expression

Interpretation

Your focus now is on your spirituality and you want the freedom and independence to explore your beliefs and broaden your mind.  You give great consideration to how your beliefs help or hinder your personal, or spiritual growth. You are open to having new and different experiences while still having fun. However, you may not feel that you are able to fully express yourself now due to being confronted by or held back by old modes of thinking and self-expression. In short, while you want to break free and explore new thoughts, ideas and experiences, you may find yourself unable to escape old modes of thinking and self-expression.

Where does the Full Moon in 8° Cancer fall in your chart and how will it manifest for you?
