Natural Chart / Whole Houses
A Full Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon occupy the same degree of opposite signs of the zodiac. As you can see from the chart above, the Moon is at 21° Capricorn and the Sun is at 21° Cancer forming an opposition creating a dynamic of challenging one another; something is being split or divided.
The Big Picture
Capricorn rules over our careers, ambition, profession, who you are in public. When the Full Moon is in Capricorn, people are more interested in their own careers, and their own path to success. They want their work to not only be noticed but rewarded as well. It is important now that they are able to take constructive criticism well. This is a good time to re-asses goals and aspirations pertaining to your career; or have a talk with your boss or mentor about taking on more responsibility, or asking for a review of your work to see what you can do better.
With the Moon being opposite the sun on the Capricorn / Cancer axis, there can be a conflict between our public image and life and our private one. This is a dynamic that we will see play out in the world at large, and in our personal lives. We can see this dynamic play out by watching the news and seeing events take place in the lives of our friends and associations on social media.
How to Work with Full Moon in Capricorn Energy

- be more of an independent, goal-oriented self-starter.
- create a "business plan" or "flow chart" to help you achieve life goals
- let purpose drive your actions
- read the biography of someone you admire
- establish boundaries (esp. between work and home)
The Personal Touch
To better understand how the Full Moon in Capricorn will affect you on a personal level, you need to look at your natal chart and determine where Capricorn and Cancer fall in terms of natal houses. These are the areas of life where you will feel a division. For example, in my own chart the 3rd and 9th houses are affected. This can indicate feeling torn between the desire to play it safe close to home and the desire to explore the world outside my comfort zone.
Aspects
Aspects, or relationships between planets, are another dimensions of astrological interpretation that should be examined. You want to look at the type of aspects, or relationships (if any) that the Full Moon is making to the planets in your birth chart. For example, in my own chart the Full Moon is applying a tight trine to my natal Sun.
Under this aspect your feelings and emotion are in positive alignment with your sense of responsibility. There is a genuine balance between your personal life and your professional one. You get more pleasure out of doing your work and see the importance of what it is that you do. You're not so easily distracted now and anything that you do during this aspect is likely to benefit you in the future
