Your North Node & You
The North Node () is not a planet but is rather a mathematical point in space where the Moon's orbit intersects the plane of the ecliptic. It is always balanced by the South Node () and they are always 180° apart. In Eastern Astrology they are known as the shadow planets Rahu (Dragon's Head) and Ketu (Dragon's Tail).
1. The South Node represents your comfort zone. It is the path of least resistance, old habits and / or learned behavior that you have a tendency to fall back on. Those astrologers who believe in past lives hold that the South Node represents habits and behaviors that were formed in previous lives and which we carry into the present one.
2) The North Node represents the path to growth and that which we must do in order to become an evolved person. These thought processes and behaviors are outside our comfort zone and can often ben quite difficult for us to do.

How to Use this List
Take a sheet of paper and divide it in half forming two columns. Find your North Node in your natal chart by Sign and House and write down the list of behaviors to embrace on the left side of the paper. Then find your South Node by Sign and House (remember it is always 180° degrees from the North Node) and write down the list of behaviors to release on the right side of the paper.
This is your soul mission in this lifetime. You can meditate on these lists and expand on it with an understanding of your present behavior and thought processes with the intention of moving outside your comfort zone and growing as a human being. Remember this can be a lifelong process.
The Transit North Node
If you are being a good little astrologer and studying your Solar Returns and Lunar Returns on a regular basis, then you will notice that the transit North / South Nodes will change from month to month and year to year.
The transit North / South node in your solar-return chart is your soul mission for that astrological year. Conversely, the transit North / South node in your Lunar Return chart each month is your soul mission for that month. In these cases you can use the descriptions above to list those thoughts and actions that you should embrace and release for that period of time in question.
Where is the North Node in your Natal Chart and what does it say about your soul mission?
