They tend to focus on small details and might be harder on themselves and others than usual. Full Moon in Leo 2025

Full Moon in Leo

The Lesson

To find a middle ground between being true to yourself and considering how your actions affect others, so you can share your talents and make a positive impact on the world.

The Affirmation

I accept who I truly am and bravely share my talents and personality while also being mindful of how my actions affect everyone around me.

Interpretation

A full moon in Leo can make people feel more confident, creative, and outgoing. They might enjoy socializing and doing things that make them happy. However, they might also be a bit self-centered and overlook the needs of others. This is a good time to work on being less vain, arrogant, and selfish.

Aspects

When the Sun and Mercury (representing our thinking and communication) meet up in Aquarius (associated with innovation and forward-thinking) and then clash with Uranus in Taurus (related to stability and material things), it can create some friction. We might feel a strong urge to express ourselves in new and different ways, and have exciting, original ideas. However, we might also feel resistant to change, especially when it comes to things that make us feel secure, like our finances or routines. This can lead to surprising insights or unexpected events that shake things up. It's a time when we could make some real progress, but we might also experience some disruptions. The key is to find a middle ground between trying new things and holding onto what feels safe and comfortable.

Magical Correspondences

  • Herbs: Sunflower, Bay Leaf, Rosemary
  • Essential Oils: Orange, Bergamot, Frankincense
  • Crystals: Carnelian, Sunstone, Citrine

Full Moon in Capricorn (2024)

Full Moon in Capricorn
Natural Chart

The Lesson: Harness structure to achieve your goals.
The Affirmation: With unwavering discipline, I release what no longer serves and embrace the strength to achieve my ambitions.

Interpretation

This lunation brings the onset of energy which fosters ambition and focus. This is a good time to reflect on accomplishments and set new goals or refine old ones. Self doubt cand result unless discipline is nurtured in one's self. This period bring the opportunity to shed limiting beliefs and renew your determination with a clear plan you can reach your full potential!

This full moon in Capricorn intensifies ambition and unearths deep-seated desires, aligning with transformative Pluto in Aquarius. It's a time for powerful breakthroughs and letting go of outdated structures, potentially leading to career shifts, emotional catharsis, and a surge in determination to build a more progressive future.

In Popular Culture

In the first Rocky movie, Rocky is a small-time boxer with raw talent but undisciplined training. He gets a shot at the heavyweight champion, Apollo Creed. Despite the odds, Rocky dedicates himself to a grueling training regimen under the guidance of Mickey Goldmill. He wakes up at dawn, runs long distances, and pushes himself to exhaustion in the gym. Through this intense discipline, Rocky goes the distance with Apollo, proving his resilience and earning respect, even though he doesn't win the title.

Daniel LaRusso, the Karate Kid, wasn't an instant success story. Frustrated by seemingly menial tasks like sanding and painting, he longed for the flashy kicks and punches. Yet, Mr. Miyagi's structured approach, with its emphasis on repetitive practice and respect for hierarchy, laid the foundation. Through relentless discipline, those mundane movements transformed into defensive blocks and powerful strikes. Daniel learned that true progress wasn't about immediate gratification, but about the focused application of effort within a clear framework. This newfound discipline became the key that unlocked his hidden potential, allowing him to achieve his goal of defeating his bullies in the tournament.

The thirst for knowledge is another hallmark of Sagittarius. This Full Moon ignites a curiosity within us, making us eager to learn new things, delve into philosophical discussions, or take a class that's piqued our interest. Sagittarius energy is naturally optimistic and full of faith in the future. This Full Moon is the perfect time to step outside your comfort zone.  Sample a new cuisine, attend a lecture on a topic you know little about, or strike up a conversation with someone you wouldn't normally talk to. By embracing new experiences and knowledge, you'll not only satisfy your Sagittarian urges but also enrich your life in unexpected ways.

This Full Moon period can be a powerful time for personal growth and transformation. The Sagittarius energy encourages us to break free from limiting beliefs and embrace new possibilities. Meanwhile, the sextile to Pluto grants us the strength and determination to make those changes a reality. It's a good time to set ambitious goals, challenge yourself, and step outside your comfort zone.

Here are some additional points to consider:

  • This transit can stir up restlessness and a desire for excitement.
  • Be mindful of the potential for overindulgence or taking unnecessary risks with Sagittarius' influence.
  • The Aquarian influence of Pluto can bring a rebellious streak, so be sure to channel your energy constructively.

Overall, this Full Moon offers a potent opportunity for positive change and growth. By embracing the expansive energy of Sagittarius and the transformative power of Pluto, we can break free from limitations and create a brighter future for ourselves.

In Popular Culture

Here are three examples of a character who embraced a bigger worldview

  1. Elsa in Frozen: Throughout the first movie, Elsa is consumed by fear of her ice magic, isolating herself from the world and her sister Anna. However, in Frozen 2, she ventures beyond Arendelle to discover the truth about her powers and the history of her kingdom. This journey forces her to confront the consequences of isolation and embrace a responsibility towards the wider world, ultimately using her magic to protect not just Arendelle but a mystical forest and its inhabitants.
  2. Steve Rogers in Captain America: Captain America initially represents a very nationalistic worldview, dedicated to defending the American ideal. However, throughout the Captain America sequels, he grapples with the complexities of global politics and the evolving nature of war. He questions authority figures and fights for what he believes is right, even when it clashes with his initial allegiances. This journey expands his worldview from blind patriotism to a more nuanced understanding of justice and the need for international cooperation.
  3. Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games: Katniss volunteers for the Hunger Games to save her younger sister, initially motivated by a desire to protect her immediate family.  As the games progress, she witnesses the suffering of other tributes and forms alliances out of necessity and compassion. By the end of the first movie, she becomes a symbol of rebellion against the Capitol's tyranny, her worldview expanding from personal survival to encompass the fight for a just society.

The full moon's energy is often associated with heightened emotions, and vulnerability can be a big part of that.  You might find yourself craving deeper connections with loved ones, feeling a stronger desire for intimacy and emotional support.  This is a beautiful time to open up to those you trust, to share your newfound insights and experiences.

The Mercury Influence

With Mercury Retrograde conjunct the North Node in Aries, get ready for a communication do-over! This is a strong influence pushing us to speak our minds and be upfront with what we think. However,  watch out for falling back on old habits in our relationships, like saying what we think people want to hear instead of being honest. Full Libra Moon (2024)

Full Libra Moon

The Libra Full Moon: Finding Balance Between Me and We

The upcoming Libra Full Moon casts a spotlight on the delicate dance between our individual desires and the needs of our relationships. It's a time of reckoning, a moment to assess the scales of our connections and see if they are balanced. This lunar event ushers in a period of introspection. We're called upon to ask ourselves: Are we truly fulfilled by the bonds we've built? Are our needs being met in a way that fosters mutual growth and happiness? This isn't about selfishness, but about self-awareness. A healthy relationship allows space for both individual journeys and a shared path.
If the scales are tipped unevenly, the Libra Full Moon empowers us to take action. For some, this might involve setting healthy boundaries. Perhaps we've been people-pleasers, neglecting our own needs to maintain harmony. This lunation encourages us to prioritize self-care, saying no when necessary, and expressing our desires openly. However, the answer doesn't always lie in separation. The energy of Libra is also about compromise and collaboration. Can we find a way to adjust the dynamic, working together to create a more fulfilling connection? Open communication and a willingness to meet each other halfway are key.
Ultimately, the Libra Full Moon encourages us to cultivate authentic connections. We're drawn towards relationships built on genuine respect, empathy, and mutual support. This might involve letting go of superficial bonds that no longer serve us and nurturing the ones that bring out our best selves. It's also a time to celebrate healthy partnerships, those beautiful collaborations where "me" and "we" exist in perfect harmony.
By embracing introspection, setting boundaries, and prioritizing healthy connections, we can leverage the energy of the Libra Full Moon to create a life filled with balanced and fulfilling relationships.

Full Moon in the 12th House

When the radiant fullness of the Moon lands in the mysterious 12th house, it stirs the potent energies of our subconscious. This is a powerful transit, a time for deep introspection and emotional processing that can feel both introspective and transformative.

  • Inner Reflection Takes Center Stage: The 12th house is associated with dreams, intuition, and the hidden aspects of ourselves. Under this Full Moon, a veil is lifted, allowing us to confront buried emotions, past hurts, and limiting beliefs. It's a time for shadow work, for gently confronting the parts of ourselves we may have kept hidden. Journaling, meditation, or dream analysis can be powerful tools during this introspective period.
  • Letting Go and Releasing: The 12th house also governs endings and letting go. This Full Moon might stir feelings of closure or a sense of needing to release something that no longer serves us. It could be a toxic relationship, a negative habit, or even a limiting self-belief. By acknowledging and releasing these burdens, we create space for new beginnings and emotional growth.
  • Compassion and Forgiveness: The emotional intensity of this transit can also bring a surge of empathy and compassion. We may feel a heightened sensitivity to the emotions of others, or a renewed desire to forgive past hurts, both for ourselves and for others. This can be a powerful time for healing and reconciliation.
  • Seeking Solitude and Self-Care: The energy of the 12th house is introspective and can be draining. During this Full Moon, it's important to listen to your intuition and prioritize rest and relaxation. Seek solitude in nature, indulge in a creative outlet, or simply take a quiet evening for yourself. Self-care is essential for navigating the emotional depths stirred by this transit.
  • Harnessing the Power of Intuition:While logic may take a backseat under this Full Moon, our intuition is amplified. Pay attention to your dreams, gut feelings, and sudden insights. They may hold valuable messages or nudges in the right direction.

The Full Moon in the 12th house is a potent time for emotional release, self-discovery, and spiritual growth. By embracing introspection, self-care, and the wisdom of our intuition, we can emerge from this transit feeling lighter, more whole, and ready to embrace new beginnings.

Summary

A Libra Full Moon usually focuses on relationships, but this one lands in the introspective 12th house. This Full Moon encourages us to look inward and examine how subconscious thoughts and past experiences might be affecting our connections with others. By understanding these hidden influences, we can achieve inner peace and build stronger, more balanced relationships. The 12th house also promotes intuition and creativity, making this a good time for self-reflection and artistic expression.

Full Moon in Pisces 2020

Full Moon in Pisces
9/1/2020   10:22 PM  PDT
Natural Chart / Whole Houses

A Full Moon occurs when the Sun and the Moon occupy the same degree of opposite signs of the Zodiac. As you can see from the above chart the Sun is at 10° Virgo and the Moon is at 10° Pisces making this a Full Moon.

The Big Picture

Pisces is about what we hide from either ourselves or others. It is associated with the need to escape, to get away, to be introspective and nurture our own spirits. On the flip side, Virgo is about our routines, our responsibilities and service to others.

When the Full Moon is in Pisces, subconscious issues are more acute and we can no longer ignore or deny them. We are moved to confront and heal our subconscious issues, emotional baggage, and psychic trauma.  This is usually a time of introspection, meditation, and inner reflection.  Generally we have less energy than normal and our inner issues may grab at our attention through our dreams. For this reason, sleep may be less peaceful than usual as well.

With the Sun in Virgo, there's an equal and opposite energy at play here where others may come to you for some form of help. You may be called upon to put the needs of others above your own needs and you just don't have the energy or inclination to do so. This is a pattern of energy that we will see play out on a grand scale in the news, politics, and across social media but also in the lives of our friends, family, and ourselves.

How to Work with Full Moon in Pisces Energy

  • take a digital detox by avoiding social media, email, or spending time on your cell phone
  • start a dream journal, study your dreams for messages
  • make a collage or mandala of your dreams
  • study your natal chart
  • get a psychic reading (tarot, astrology, bone reading, etc... )
  • start a meditation practice
  • engage in spiritual pursuits (journaling, yoga, affirmation, spiritual bathing etc...)
  • schedule a therapy session with a qualified therapist
  • practice self care
  • learn to set boundaries

The Personal Touch

To better understand how the Full Moon in Pisces will affect you, you need to look at the natal houses which Pisces and Virgo occupy in your birth chart. For example, in my own chart Pisces is in the 5th House while Virgo is in the 11th.  Whereas the 5th house rules personal pursuits, usually creative in nature; the 11th house is about coming together with others to achieve a goal that is for the benefit of the world at large, such as a social or humanitarian cause. So for me the conflict will present itself as a desire to pursue personal creative projects vs the desire to do something for the greater good.

I would also look at the aspect the full moon is making to my natal chart.  At quick look my natal chart shows that the Full Moon in 21° Pisces is applying a sextile to my natal Mars at 9° Taurus. A sextile is type of aspect in which the energy or urge of one planet cooperates with the energy or urge of another planet.  When the Moon forms a sextile to Mars, emotions cooperate with your drive and energy.  You can now recognize and express your passions with ease. You have more confidence, more courage, and more leadership ability. Your relationships with men can also improve now.

Where does the full moon in 21° Pisces fall in your chart and who will this energy manifest for you?

Full Moon in Aquarius 2020

Full Moon in Aquarius
8/3/20  8:58 AM
Natural Chart / Whole Houses

A Full Moon occurs when the Sun and the Moon occupy the same degrees of opposing astrological signs. As you can see from the above Full Moon Chart, the Sun is at 11° Leo and the Moon is 180° away at 11° Aquarius making this a Full Moon. When two planets form an opposition in this manner it creates a division. Two things are being split apart or divided.

The Big Picture

Aquarius is associated with groups of like minded individuals. They usually come together for a single purpose which serves the group's interests or agenda and which is greater than that of any one individual. For this reason Aquarius rules over clubs, organizations, friends, groups, and associations.

On the flipside, Leo is more about the individual. Leo is the dramatic actor who needs to take center stage and get all the attention for themselves. They can be quite territorial!  They are not concerned with the needs of the many (in a general sense here) but rather with their own needs.

So what we can expect from this Full Moon in Aquarius? Well a divide between the group agenda / needs and the needs of the individual is expected. With the Full Moon in Aquarius friends and associations come under scrutiny and some relationships or associations may come to an end. Alternately, an acquaintance may become a closer friend. People are, generally speaking, less materialistic now and more charitable. People tend to focus on their dreams for the future now as well as their place in the world.  Now is the time to take steps towards realizing ones dreams or abandon them all together for something more realistic.

Working with Full Moon in Aquarius Energy

  • Donate time, money, or energy to a worthy humanitarian cause
  • Sign a petition for a cause that you believe in
  • Join a group that interest you.
  • Start a club or organization that you would want to join.
  • Participate in a Protest March
  • Get involved in local politics
  • Research a topic that you're in interested in (especially if it involves technology or cutting edge science)
  • Give yourself more freedom

The Personal Touch

To better understand how the Full Moon in Aquarius will affect you on an individual level you need to look at the houses in which Aquarius and Leo fall in your natal chart. For example, in my own chart Aquarius is in the 4th Natal House and Leo is in the 10th.  These two houses are known as the Angular Houses (along with the 1st and 7th) and these are very powerful houses. The fourth house is known as the Imum Coeli (IC) and the tenth house is known as the Midheaven or Medium Coeli (MC).

Whereas the IC rules over our home and private life, the MC rules over our public life and reputation. For me, there would seem to be a divide between my sense of privacy and what I share with the public (or how I am perceived by the public). With the Full Moon in the 4th house, endings related to the home and family are indicated. This may also be a situation that I would want to keep from the public or to somehow control the flow of information so as the prevent misunderstanding with the public.

You can go deeper by checking the aspects between the Full Moon in 11° Aquarius and other points in your natal chart. For example, in my own chart the Transit Moon is making an Opposition to my Natal MC. What this means is that my emotions turn inwards and I will not want to deal with the public or people in general. I'll want to spend more time alone in familiar surroundings (my home) and only have contact with close friends and family members. I may feel more possessive of the people close to me or a strong desire to belong to someone which provides a sense of security

Full Moon in Sagittarius 2020

Full Moob in Sagittarius
June 5th, 2020  12:12 PM PDT
Whole House System

A Full Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon occupy the same degree of opposite signs of the zodiac. As you can see from the chart above, the Moon is at 15° Sagittarius and the Sun is at 15° Gemini forming an opposition creating a dynamic of challenging one another; something is being split or divided.

The Big Picture

Gemini is all about my vicinity, my neighborhood, my community, my culture. Sagittarius on the other hand is about foreign people and cultures. So there is a dynamic here of a divide between "us and them" or the "familiar vs. the unfamiliar". This is a dynamic that we will see play out in the world at large, and in our personal lives. We can see this dynamic play out by watching the news and seeing events take place in the lives of our friends and associations on social media.

As I write this blog entry, there are major demonstrations and rioting in major cities across America. These actions where sparked by an incident in Minneapolis, MN wherein a white police officer named Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd --- a black man who was allegedly accused of attempting to buy food with a counterfeit $20 bill. This incident has re-ignited the Black Lives Matter movement amidst the Covid 19 pandemic.  Here we see a general theme of the "familiar" vs. the "unfamiliar" or "us" vs. "them".

How to Work with Full Moon in Sagittarius Energy

  • Get out of your comfort zone
  • Practice being more honesty with yourself and others.
  • Be more independent (think and do for yourself!)
  • As much as you are able, engage in travel (even if it is an unfamiliar part of your city)
  • Explore a culture, religion, belief, or philosophy outside your own (respectfully)
  • Read up on a subject that you are interested in but have little knowledge of.
  • Try some "foreign" food.
  • Get some physical exercise; go for a walk, jog, or run
  • Take a risk
  • Adopt a more optimistic attitude about life.

The Personal Touch

To understand how the Full Moon in Sagittarius will affect you, you need to look at where Sagittarius and Gemini fall in your natal chart.

  • If Aries is your Ascendant, then Sagittarius is your 9th House.
  • If Taurus is your Ascendant, then Sagittarius is your 8th House.
  • If Gemini is your Ascendant, then Sagittarius is your 7th House.
  • If Cancer is your Ascendant, then Sagittarius is your 6th House.
  • If Leo is your Ascendant, then Sagittarius is your 5th House.
  • If Virgo is your Ascendant, then Sagittarius is your 4th House.
  • If Libra is your Ascendant, then Sagittarius is your 3rd House.
  • If Scorpio is your Ascendant, then Sagittarius is your 2nd House.
  • If Sagittarius is your Ascendant, then Sagittarius is your 1st House.
  • If Capricorn is your Ascendant, then Sagittarius is your 12th House
  • If Pisces is your Ascendant, then Sagittarius is your 11th House.

For example, in my birth chart Sagittarius is in the second house of my resources and personal values and Gemini is in the 8th house of shared resources. Additionally, the 8th house is associated with transformation and change, while the 2nd house likes things to stay as they are. So for me there is a divide between my resources and resources shared with others; someone or something is trying to make me change but I want things to stay as they are.

The full moon makes a sextile to my natal Uranus bringing an openness to change softening that resistance to change stated above and can herald sudden exciting events and encounters with other people. The full moon often brings endings and completion and a full moon in the second house of finance can indicate paying off a debt or there being a danger of overspending. At any rate, this is a time when finances should be watched closely and any risky investments should be avoided.

Full Moon in Scorpio 2020

Full Moon in Scorpio
5/7/2020  3:45 AM
Natural Chart / Whole Houses

A Full Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon occupy the same degree of opposite signs of the zodiac.  As you can see from the chart above, the Moon is at 17° Scorpio and the Sun is at 17° Taurus forming an opposition creating a dynamic of challenging one another; something is being split or divided.

The Big Picture

Taurus is all about me. My money, my possessions, my values. Scorpio is about us. Our money, our possessions, our values.  So there is a dynamic here of being torn between what is mine and what is ours. We can see this energy play out on a grand scale by watching the news, looking at our newsfeeds on social media, and listening to the people around us. As I write this blog entry the big news story is about the conflict between radical people who want to open up the government and businesses now (Me) and those who wish to exercise caution and a safer approach to "getting back to normal" (Our)

The Personal Touch

To understand how the Full Moon in Scorpio affects us on a personal level we would look to see where Scorpio and Taurus falls in our natal charts. For example 17° Scorpio in my Natal Chart falls in my first house and 17° Taurus falls in my 7th house. These houses rule over the self and one's relationships respectively.  Therefore, for me, I may feel torn between my own needs as a person and the needs of my partners in business, friendships, or relationships.

Whereas the New Moon brings new beginnings and new opportunities the Full Moon brings completion and endings. The Full Moon in Scorpio (my natal 1st house) can mean a time of introspection and self-evaluation. This can be a time wherein I am more emotional and I have to recognize and confront what I need to release in order to grow and evolve.  In addition, the Full Moon at 17° Scorpio is making a sextile (soft aspect) to my Natal Sun at 22° Virgo. What this mean for me is that the intense, passionate nature of my emotions will be in harmony with the urge to express the practical, critical, and meticulous aspects of my personality.

How to Use Full Moon in Scorpio Energy

  • Identify & explore your passions.
  • Research a topic that interests you
  • Investigate a Mystery / Solve a Puzzle (word search, crosswords, jigsaw, etc..)
  • Participate in a Treasure Hunt
  • Be more flirtatious, have a fling
  • Practice self-transformation (what house in Scorpio in your natal chart?)
  • Embrace / Explore / Express your sexuality
  • Dare yourself to push past your own limitations.

What will the Full Moon in Scorpio mean for you?

A Full Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon occupy the same degree of opposite signs of the zodiac.  As you can see from the chart above, the Moon is at 19° Virgo and the Sun is 180 degrees away at 19° Pisces forming an opposition. This creates a dynamic of the Sun and Moon challenging one another; something is being split, divided.

The Big Picture

Virgo is an Earth / Mutable / Passive sign ruled by Mercury.  Virgo represents the archetype of the healer, the servant, and the analyst to name a few.  Generally speaking, Virgos are detail-oriented, humble, critical, practical, perfectionist who wish to be of service to others.

Pisces is a Water / Mutable / Passive sign ruled by Neptune. They represent the archetype of the mystic, the dreamer, and the visionary. Pisces people are generally thought to be introverted, romantic, mystical, withdrawn, creative, isolated, and artistic.

With the Moon in Virgo forming an opposition to the Sun in Pisces we have the dynamic of my need to be of service to others at odds with my need to withdraw into self. During this time you may feel pulled in opposite directions. You may feel that someone is pressuring you to do something that is not of primary importance to you and you feel like there isn't anything you can do about the situation.

This is a pattern we can see play out on a large scale by watching the news, paying attention to what is going on on social media and in the lives of our family and friends; or on a small scale by examining our own natal charts to see where the Full Moon is taking place.

How to Work With Full Moon in Virgo Energy

  • practice humility
  • be of service to others
  • balance your checkbook, double check your taxes
  • catch up on any record-keeping
  • read a murder mystery, or solve a crossword puzzle (in ink)
  • invite a friend over for a game of chess, scrabble, or mahjong
  • start the process of spring cleaning
  • declutter & organize your home or work space to be more efficient
  • prune and water your plants
  • engage in journaling, writing, or editing that needs to be done

The Personal Touch

To understand how the Full Moon in Virgo affects us an individuals we need to see where 0 degrees Virgo is in our own natal charts.  For example, zero degrees Virgo in my natal chart is on the cusp of the 11th House, which is known as the area of our chart associated with ideals and goals.  Across from the 11th house at 180 degrees is the 5th house which rules over our creativity and self expression.

To better understand this dynamic, we might want to create a mind-map like so.

MOON IN VIRGO        VS.          SUN IN PISCES

of service to others                    withdraw into self
detail oriented                           vague & undefined
reality                                        imagination

5TH HOUSE                VS.             11TH HOUSE

creativity and                           wishes / goals
self expression                         friends and associates

When looked at this way, we can see that (for me) my desire to use my creativity and self expression to be of service to others will be in conflict with my desire to withdraw into myself to focus on my personal wishes and goals. Since the Full Moon is also associated with endings and completion, the full moon transiting my 11th house could signal the end of a friendship or the completion of a goal.

Aspects

Finally, it is always a good idea to look at the aspects, or relationships, between the Full Moon and other planets in your natal chart. An examination of my own chart reveals that the Full Moon is making a sextile to my natal Venus which indicates that any conflicts can be soften and relationships in general may improve. This aspect could help mitigate whatever occurs to contribute to the end of a friendship or relationship indicated by the Full Moon in the 11th House. Alternately, it can indicate a break from a friendship rather than it's completion or end.
