When  Jupiter transits the energetic sign of Gemini, it ushers in a period marked by a powerful surge of optimism and intellectual curiosity.  Jupiter, often referred to as the "benefactor" planet, brings a wave of positivity. People tend to see the glass as half full, fostering a can-do attitude and a willingness to take chances. This optimistic outlook can fuel personal and professional endeavors. Gemini, the sign of the twins, is all about communication and connection. Under Jupiter's influence, communication flows freely and effortlessly. Venus in Gemini (2024)

Venus in Sagittarius

Natural Chart

  • Affirmation: I love versatility!
  • The Lesson: Nurture connections through intellectual curiosity.

Interpretation

Under a Venus in Gemini transit, communication becomes a delightful dance. People find themselves drawn to lively conversations, witty banter, and intellectual exchanges.  Imagine a room filled with buzzing energy as ideas bounce back and forth. This is a prime time for brainstorming sessions, debates, and witty wordplay.

The influence of Venus, the planet of love and beauty, adds a touch of flirtatiousness to social interactions. People become more charming and playful, seeking connections that stimulate the mind as well as the heart. Creativity takes center stage, with individuals drawn to express themselves through words, art, or even fashion. This is a period where exploring new ideas in relationships is encouraged, fostering a sense of openness and experimentation.

However, this transit can also bring a touch of flightiness. With the emphasis on intellectual stimulation and variety, some may find it challenging to commit to one conversation or idea for too long. There's a constant desire to explore new avenues, potentially making connections feel superficial. The commitment-phobic side of Gemini might emerge, leading to a fear of getting bogged down by serious conversations or deep emotional attachments.

The key to navigating this transit lies in finding a balance. Embrace the playful energy and enjoy the intellectual stimulation that comes with lively conversations. However, don't be afraid to delve deeper when a connection feels particularly promising. By nurturing both the lightheartedness and the potential for meaningful connections, you can truly harness the positive aspects of Venus in Gemini.

Aspects

Venus in Gemini Conjunct Jupiter in Taurus and Sextile Neptune in Pisces

This combination of aspects brings a powerful combination of love, luck, and idealism. Venus in Gemini craves connection and intellectual stimulation, finding it amplified by lucky Jupiter in Taurus who enhances pleasure and beauty. The sextile to Neptune in Pisces adds a touch of dreamy romance and compassion, creating an atmosphere perfect for finding love, deepening existing relationships, and appreciating the beauty around you.

In Popular Culture

Here are three examples in Popular Culture of people who nurtured connections with others through intellectual curiosity.

  1. Letitia Lewis in "Watchmen" (TV series): Letitia, a young and observant resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, is drawn into a world of masked vigilantes and racial tensions. Her curiosity about the past, particularly the history of her city and the masked heroes, leads her to investigate and connect with others.  She befriends a former hero, Wade Tillman (Looking Glass), through their shared interest in uncovering the truth.  Her inquisitiveness also allows her to build a bond with Angela Abar, a mysterious neighbor with a hidden past.
  2. Sherlock Holmes in the "Sherlock" series (BBC):  While Sherlock is known for his eccentric brilliance, his social awkwardness often hinders connection. However, his insatiable curiosity about human behavior and the world around him becomes a bridge.  He uses his intellect to solve cases that bring him into contact with a wide range of people.  His partnership with John Watson thrives on their contrasting personalities, with John's emotional intelligence complementing Sherlock's analytical mind.
  3. Anya in "Anastasia" (animated film): Anya, yearning to discover her past and true identity, embarks on a journey to Paris.  Her curiosity about history and the Romanovs fuels her determination.  This inquisitiveness allows her to connect with Dimitri and Vlad, who each have their own agendas but share a desire to unravel the mystery surrounding Anya.  Through their shared pursuit of knowledge, they form a bond that helps them achieve their goals.

The Moon in Gemini

Moon in Gemini
3/28/2020  6:38 PM (Pacific)
Natural Chart / Whole Houses

Note: Last year, I didn't really cover the transits of the moon other than it's relationship to other planets and positions in the form of aspects. This year, I will be covering the Moon's journey through the zodiac at the rate of one sign per month in the natural order.

Moon in Gemini (General)

The Moon makes a full circuit through the zodiac once every 28 1/2 days spending about 2.5 days in each sign. It's mantra is I FEEL and some keywords associated with it include, but are not limited to, childhood, cycles, emotions, feelings, habits, home, change, instincts, mother, passive, subconscious. nurturing, and imagination. The Moon rules Cancer, is Exalted in Taurus, in fall in Scorpio, and Detriment in Capricorn (see essential dignity).

Gemini's mantra is I COMMUNICATE (it's ruler is Mercury) so when the Moon is in Gemini you feel more comfortable expressing your emotions and feelings. It's easier for you to open up to other people and get things off your chest of an emotional nature. The downside is you can be more vulnerable to criticism or hurtful words. During the short time that the Moon is transiting Gemini you may also find that you are busier than you normally are or that you get bored more easily if you have nothing to do. This is a good time to harness that energy to finish old projects or get involved in your community in some way.

The house where Gemini falls in your chart is the area of life that you will feel more comfortable talking about.

  • If your rising sign is Aries, Gemini is your 3rd House.
  • If your rising sign is Taurus, Gemini is your 2nd House.
  • If your rising sign is Gemini, Gemini is your 1st House.
  • If your rising sign is Cancer, Gemini is your 12th House.
  • If your rising sign is Leo, Gemini is your 11th House.
  • If your rising sign is Virgo, Gemini is your 10th House.
  • If your rising sign is Libra, Gemini is your 9th House.
  • If your rising sign is Scorpio, Gemini is your 8th House.
  • If your rising sign is Sagittarius, Gemini is your 7th House.
  • If your rising sign is Capricorn, Gemini is your 6th House.
  • If your rising sign is Aquarius, Gemini is your 5th House.
  • If your rising sign is Pisces, Gemini is your 4th House.

Example

Moon + Gemini + 8th House

I feel + I communicate + sex, death, birth, transformation, shared resources, and spirituality.

When the Moon is in Gemini and the 8th House you're emotional about shared resources like debt and other bills. You waver between keeping your fears to yourself and wanting to talk to someone about them.  You can be more possessive of the things that you have fearing that you might lose them or you can become jealous of the things that other people have.

Aspects

Aspects or relationship between planets is another dimension of astrological interpretation that should be considered. In this instance we look at any aspects forming between the Transit Moon and planets in the Natal Chart. Let us say that you have Jupiter in 2° Aquarius in your natal Chart, that would mean that the Transit Moon is making a applying a Trine to Natal Jupiter. A trine is a type of aspect in which the energy of one planet is supportive of the energy or urge of another planet.

Moon + Trine + Jupiter

I feel supports I expand

When the Moon forms a trine to Jupiter your mood is more pleasant, optimistic and cheerful. Domestic matters and relationships (especially with women) go smoother. You feel luckier which leads to you being more generous.

Ruler of the House

The Ruler of the House is another aspect that should be examined. The Moon rules Cancer so the house which Cancer occupies in your Natal Chart is the area of life that will be impacted by the ingress of the Moon in Gemini. To interpret the Moon as a house ruler you have to ask yourself two questions. They are:

  1. What House does Cancer (Ruled by the Moon) occupy in my Natal Chart?
  2. What House does Gemini (Moon transiting Gemini) occupy in my Natal Chart?
Let us suppose that Cancer is your 9th House which would make Gemini your 8th House. Then you would say that the Ruler of the 9th House (Cancer) is in the 8th House (Gemini). What this means is that the ruler of the 9th House This can be expressed as the activities of the 9th house service the urge and activities of the 8th house. This can be expressed as higher education, travel and meeting different people serve passion, intensity, sex and shared resources.

When can then extrapolate on this statement and say something like "You use higher education to help you find your passion. Travel to foreign places allow you to explore the forbidden or unspoken. You use sex to search for meaningful life experiences. This may lead you to explore the sexual practices of other cultures of belief systems (tantric sex for example). You explore the link between sexuality and spirituality. "

How will the ingress of the Moon into Gemini manifest for you?

Full Moon in Gemini 2019

Full Moon in Gemini
12/11/19  9:12 PM PDT
Natural Chart / Whole Houses

A full moon occurs when both the Sun and the Moon occupy the same degree of opposite signs at the same time. As you can see from the above Full Moon Chart, the Sun is in 19° Sagittarius and the Moon is 180° away in 19° Gemini making this a Full Moon.

The Big Picture

The Full moon occurs when the Sun and Moon are in opposition. An opposition is a type of aspect in which two planets are 180° apart. They are divided and struggling to pull away from one another and each feels that the lack control over the situation. The Moon is transiting the area of our chart associated with our community, our neighbors and siblings while the Sun is occupying the area of the chart dealing with foreign people, places, and ideas. So we have a divide here between "us" and "them".

Whereas New Moons bring something new into our lives, such as a new person, a new opportunity, or a new challenge; a Full Moon brings a completion or an end to something. A Full Moon in Gemini and the 3rd House can indicate the end of a feud with a neighbor, or a rivalry with a sibling resulting in a reconciliation. Issues of communicating effectively with others may also arise. In general this is a good time for clearing up misunderstanding with people and explaining how you feel more directly and clearly.

The Personal Touch

To better understand how the Full Moon in Gemini will have an affect of you, you need to look at the natal house where 19° Gemini falls in your chart. For example, in my birth chart 19° Gemini aligns with my eighth house of transformation and shared resources. Knowing that the Sun and Moon are 180° apart on this date and time, that would put the Sun in 19° Sagittarius in my second house of money, material possessions, and personal values.

For me, this would indicate that some type of deep transformation is to be expected. Regeneration and renewal comes through releasing or letting go of blockages related to the idea of "what is ours" vs. "what is mine". Issues related to physical intimacy and trust may also need to be addressed. In addition the Transit Full Moon in 19° is making a Trine to my natal Uranus in 21° Libra indicating an ease of flow between emotions and the urge for individuality and freedom. I can expect a desire to break away from my usual routine and do something new and different. I may feel the urge to do something that causes me to stand out from the crowd more as well.

How to Work With Full Moon in Gemini Energy

  • the mantra for Gemini is I THINK, so stop and think before you speak (or write).
  • work on your written and verbal communication skills; avoid any language or tone that could be misconstrued.
  • don't assume people "read between the lines" or understand, go the extra mile to clarify.
  • clear up any misunderstanding that have had with others.
  • get to know your neighbors
  • check in with your siblings
  • try to exercise more adaptability, open-mindedness, and versatility especially about anyone or anything that seems different or foreign.
  • get involved with a neighborhood or community effort.

Where does 19° Gemini fall in your chart and how will the Full Moon in Gemini manifest for you?

Mercury in Gemini

Mercury in Gemini
5/21/19  3:52 AM PDT
Natural Chart / Whole Houses

Mercury (I Think)

In a chart, Mercury represents how you process and exchange information.  Mercury rules Gemini / Virgo, is in detriment in Sagittarius / Pisces, exalted in Aquarius, and fall in Leo.

Keywords: expression, communication, eloquence, flexible, information, intellect, knowledge, learning, logic, messenger, mindful, thoughtful, speech, transportation, movement, clever.

Gemini (I Think)

Gemini is an Air / Mutable / Masculine Sign that is ruled by Mercury.

Keywords: Versatile, adaptable, curious, restless, indecisive, talkative, vacillating, open-minded, perceptive, flighty and sociable.

Mercury in Gemini (General)

Mercury in Gemini can translate to I think open-minded thoughts because I am curious about many things and because I have access to so much information my position on different topics is changeable.  Mercury rules Gemini so our minds are in overdrive and cannot seem to slow down. You may jump quickly from one thought or subject to another without finishing your original thought.

How Mercury in Gemini Affect You

When Mercury is in Gemini your thoughts are fast, quick, and changeable and where Gemini falls in your chart is what your thoughts will center on.

  • If your rising sign is Capricorn, Gemini is your 6th House.
  • If your rising sign is Aquarius, Gemini is your 5th House.
  • If your rising sign is Pisces, Gemini is your 4th House.

Example

Mercury in Gemini and the 9th House

Using the keywords as before, Mercury in Gemini can translate to I think openminded, quick, and vacilating thoughts about my spiritual growth, my dreams, the higher mind, ethics, my education, and long journeys. With Mercury in Gemini and the 9th house you are more talkative and love to have conversations. The drawback here is that you may tend to talk more than you listen which can be off putting to some people. You may decide to start a writing project and while this placement is not good for finishing such a project it is good for gathering your research.

You want to expand your mind but there is so much information out there it may feel like it's too much to absorb all at once and it may not hold your attention. Rather than the small details of any matter, you're more interested in the big picture.

You can expand on this sentence by looking for any aspects between the Sun and other planets both in the transit chart as well as aspects to your natal chart.

Mars in Gemini

Mars in Gemini
3/31/19 11:12 PM Pacific
Natural Chart / Whole Houses

Mars (I act)

In a chart, Mars indicates your drive and energy. It rules Aries, is in detriment in Libra, exalted in Capricorn and fall in Cancer.

Keywords: action, aggression, lust, anger, assertiveness, masculinity, passion, energy, strength, conquest, drive, impatience, willpower, sex, sexuality, desire, courage, restlessness and vigor.

Gemini (I Think)

Gemini is an Air / Mutable / Masculine Sign that is ruled by Mercury.

Keywords: Versatile, adaptable, curious, restless, indecisive, talkative, vacillating, open-minded, perceptive, flighty and sociable.

Mars in Gemini (General)

When Mars is in Gemini, people are generally sharper, more critical, and can often have more than the usual disagreements with friends, relatives, and neighbors. Since Gemini is ruled by Mercury which is associated with our thinking processes and how we communicate, Mars in Gemini can manifest as harsh exchanges of words. Rather than physical confrontations, people use their words as their weapons (this applies to the written word as well).

Mars is all about energy and drive and in the mutable sign of the twins, all that energy can manifest as unfocused and scattered which can make many folks frustrated and angry.  People generally become more easily bored than usual and need to have constant change and excitement to keep up their energy. Without anything to pour their energy, drive and strength into they can become physically exhausted from boredom. However, when they have many things to do and which will hold their interest and attention they will have an abundance of power and energy.

How Mars in Gemini Affect You

A planet, such as Mars, describes a specific type of energy. In the case of Mars it is the energy of action. The sign that it occupies indicates how that energy manifests. Mars, the energy of action, in Gemini will manifest as aggressively stubborn  restless and indecisive.  Finally the house that the planet transits will determine where this energy will manifest in your life.

In order to determine the house that Mars in Gemini is transiting you look at your birth chart and determine what house aligns with Taurus. For example.

Example

Mars + Gemini + 8th House

With Mars (I act) in Gemini (I think) in the 8th house of sexuality and transformation you can feel sexually frustrated. You may feel the need for more sexual attention than usual, or a stronger desire to be more adventurous and if someone cannot or will not give you their complete sexual devotion you will likely move on to another partner or lover.

Mars in the 8th house increases your sexual prowess and gives you an enormous sexual appeal so there should be no shortage of people who are attracted to you. The influence of Gemini can make you more of a selfish lover,  resulting in arguments of a verbal nature and you won't likely hold back your words preferring to hurt your lover with your words. It is important during such a transit that you make sure that you, listen to your partner and give as much pleasure as you receive.

Working the Root: If you have a sexual partner who can keep up with you during this transit all the better and, if not, this might be a good transit to attract a lover or series of lovers to feed your sexual appetite.  This can be accomplished by marking a red candle with your wish and dressing it with Mars Oil alone or with another condition oil such as Kiss Me Now or Lavender Love Drops (depending on what you wish to attract) Place the candle on top of your specific wish written on a piece of paper. This could be as simple as a description of the type of lover you wish to draw to you.

If you find this transit to be a bit too much, you can try some spell craft to mitigate these energies. Begin by cutting a piece of paper into a triangle and writing your wish on the paper. Place the paper on your altar right side up. On the lower left corner place a red candle dressed with Mars Oil, on the lower right corner place a green candle dressed with Venus Oil. On the top corner place your own astral candle on which you have carved your own name and dressed with both Mars and Venus Oil.

First light your own candle (this candle represents me), then the Mars candle (this candle represents Mars in me - stubborn, lusty, and aggressive) and finally light the Venus candle (this candle represents Venus in me --- the qualities of harmony, ease and patience which I call to bring balance to Mars in me). Finally end with "I release these words to the Supreme Power that provides all good things and it is so. Amen."
