Natural Chart / Whole Houses

A Full Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon occupy the same degree of opposite signs of the zodiac.  As you can see from the chart above, the Moon is at zero degrees Libra and the Sun is 180 degrees away at zero degrees Aries forming an opposition. This creates a dynamic of the Sun and Moon challenging one another; something is being split, divided.

The Big Picture

Libra is an Air / Cardinal / Masculine sign.  Libra represents the archetype of the diplomat, the mediator, or the peacemaker.  Libras are generally thought to be people pleasers, vacillating, fair-minded, idealistic, impartial, considerate, neutral,, and indecisive. It is ruled by Venus

Aries is a Fire / Cardinal / Masculine sign. People born under the sign of Aries represent the archetype of the pioneer, the explorer, or the adventurer. Aries people are generally thought to be strong, assertive, energetic, impatient, headstrong, fearless, and eager.  It is ruled by Mars.

With the Moon in Libra (I Balance) forming an opposition to the Sun in Aries (I AM) we have a dynamic of We vs. Me; Relationships vs. Individuality; and Compromise Vs. DissensionDuring this time you may feel pulled in opposite directions. You may feel that someone is pressuring you to do something that is not of primary importance to you and you feel like there isn't anything you can do about the situation.

This is a pattern we can see play out on a large scale by watching the news, paying attention to what is going on on social media and in the lives of our family and friends; or on a small scale by examining our own natal charts to see where the Full Moon is taking place.

The Personal Touch

To understand how the Full Moon in Libra affects us an individuals we need to see where 0 degrees Libra is in our own natal charts.  For example, zero degrees Libra in my natal chart is on the cusp of the 12th House, which is known as the area of our chart associated with endings, the past, and hidden things.  Across from the 11th house at 180 degrees is the 6th house which rules over health, work and our daily routines.

To better understand this dynamic, we might want to create a mind-map like so.

Moon in Libra              Sun in Aries

relationships                  individuality
we                                   me
compromise                   dissension

12th House                   6th House

endings                         health
hidden things                work
the past                         daily routine

When looked at this way, it could be interpreted that (for me) that some unresolved issues surrounding a past relationship may conflict with who I feel that I am today.  This conflict may play out in my work environment and have an affect on my health or upset my daily routine.

In addition to these placements, it would be wise to check your current transits at the time of the Full Moon as well.  For example, the fact that Mercury Retrograde is also transiting my fifth further echoes the idea of having to re-visit or re-examine a past relationship. Finally, it is always a good idea to look at the aspects, or relationships, between the Full Moon and other planets in your natal chart.

Where does zero degrees Libra fall in your chart and how will the Full Moon in Libra manifest for you?
