Sun in Pisces

Sun in Pisces

Sun in Pisces
2/18/19 3:04 PM (Pacific)
Natural Chart / Whole Signs

The Sun (I AM)

In a chart, the Sun indicates where you shine. It represents your own ego as well as your approach to self expression and how you realize your self. The Sun rules Leo; is in detriment in Aquarius; exaltation in Aries; and fall in Libra.

Keywords: authority, confidence, creativity, power, ego, father, hope, vitality, potential, dignity, joy, generosity, extravagance, pride, individuality, recognition.

Pisces (I Believe)

Pisces is a Water / Mutable / Passive (Feminine) sign ruled by Neptune and subruled* by Jupiter.

Keywords: sensitive, dreamer, escapist, isolated, introverted, shy, psychic, romantic, vague, artistic, and creative.

The Sun in Pisces (General)

Pisces is the 12th and last sign of the zodiac, so when the Sun enters Pisces it signals the end of one cycle and the coming beginning of a new cycle ---when the Sun enters Aries. I feel that the ingress of the Sun in Pisces heralds an emotional spring cleaning that precedes the physical one that traditionally occurs in our environment after the Sun enters Aries in late March.

Our interest turns to things of the spirit and our attention turns inward. We become focused on subconscious issues and immerse ourselves in dealing with our emotional baggage. The Sun in Pisces shines the light on the desire to seek out the truth and to be satisfied with what is found in the darkest corners of our psyches. You may find yourself listening more to your intuition as well as paying more attention to your dreams for signs and omens. Your sensitivity to these subtle energies results in heightened empathy and you exercise more compassion not only in dealing with yourself but also those around you.

How the Sun in Pisces Affects You

A planet, such as the Sun, describes a specific type of energy. In the case of the Sun it is the energy of self or ego. The sign that it occupies indicates how that energy manifests. The Sun, the energy of self, in Pisces will manifest as vague, romantic, and intuitive. Finally the house that the planet transits will determine where this energy will manifest in your life.

In order to determine the house that the Sun in Pisces is transiting you look at your birth chart and determine what house aligns with Pisces. For example.

  • If your rising sign is Aries, Pisces is your 12th House
  • If your rising sign is Taurus, Pisces is your 11th House
  • If your rising sign is Gemini, Pisces is your 10th House
  • If your rising sign is Cancer, Pisces is your 9th House
  • If your rising sign is Leo, Pisces is your 8th House
  • If your rising sign is Virgo, Pisces is your 7th House
  • If your rising sign is Libra, Pisces is your 6th House
  • If your rising sign is Scorpio, Pisces is your 5th House
  • If your rising sign is Sagittarius, Pisces is your 4th House
  • If your rising sign is Capricorn, Pisces is your 3rd House
  • If your rising sign is Aquarius, Pisces is your 2nd House
  • If your rising sign is Pisces, Pisces is your 1st House

Example

Transit Sun in Pisces and the Natal 5th House

The Sun (I AM) in Pisces (I BELIEVE) and the 5th House of love, children, and creativity can manifest as vague, romantic feelings about love and romance. The Sun is happiest in the 5th house because this house is ruled by Leo which is also ruled by the Sun. You want to believe that love is possible. You want to believe that you are loved and loving but you have some emotional baggage and / or subconscious blocks that you must confront before you can really enjoy yourself.

On the flip side, you might try to socialize more and surround yourself with people in order to attract more attention to yourself in order to avoid confronting and healing your subconscious issues.  Alternately, you may also take up a new hobby as a distraction from your issues. If you have a history with addiction, such as gambling, you might want to be careful not to fall off the wagon

Mercury in Pisces

Mercury in Pisces

Mercury enters Pisces
2/10/19  2:51 AM  (Pacific)
Natural Chart / Whole Houses

Mercury (I Think)

In a chart, Mercury represents how you process and exchange information.  Mercury rules Gemini / Virgo, is in detriment in Sagittarius / Pisces, exalted in Aquarius, and fall in Leo.

Keywords: expression, communication, eloquence, flexible, information, intellect, knowledge, learning, logic, messenger, mindful, thoughtful, speech, transportation, movement, clever.

Pisces (I Believe)

Pisces is Water / Mutable / Passive (Feminine) sign ruled by Neptune and subruled* by Jupiter.

Keywords: sensitive, dreamer, escapist, isolated, introverted, shy, psychic, romantic, vague, artistic, and creative.

Mercury in Pisces (General)

Mercury is said to be in detriment in Pisces. A planet is in detriment when a planet is in the sign opposite of it's rulership. Mercury rules Virgo (and Gemini) and Pisces is six signs away (or opposite) Virgo. Detriment is a term that describes the condition of a planet in a sign. When a planet is in detriment it means that a planet is cut off from it's resources and will have to adapt in order to reach it's full potential. The keyword for detriment is diminished

Mercury is the planet of the mind. It is all about logic, our thinking, and communication. Pisces, being a water-sign, is emotionally based, dreamy, and intuitive.  So when Mercury is in Pisces, our thoughts are at odds with our emotions. You may feel caught up in your feelings. Communication proves to be more difficult. You can be more sensitive at this time and and find yourself being ruled by your emotions. You may also find yourself in danger of emotional outburst in which you blurt our your feelings without stopping to consider what you are saying.

The upside to Mercury in Pisces is that you can use this energy to get in touch your with your feelings and emotions. Your imagination is enhanced and you can be more creative and artsy at this time. This is also a good time to practice and refine your intuitive faculties. If you are interested in any metaphysical subjects such as Astrology and Tarot, this is a good time to start learning.

How Mercury in Pisces Affect You

A planet, such as Mercury, describes a specific type of energy. In the case of Mercury it is the energy of thought or thinking. The sign that it occupies indicates how that energy manifests. Mercury, the energy of thought, in Pisces will manifest as vague, romantic, and intuitive. Finally the house that the planet transits will determine where this energy will manifest in your life.

In order to determine the house that Mercury in Pisces is transiting you look at your birth chart and determine what house aligns with Pisces. For example.

  • If your rising sign is Aries, Pisces is your 12th House.
  • If your rising sign is Taurus, Pisces is your 11th House.
  • If your rising sign is Gemini, Pisces is your 10th House.
  • If your rising sign is Cancer, Pisces is your 9th House.
  • If your rising sign is Leo, Pisces is your 8th House.
  • If your rising sign is Virgo, Pisces is your 7th House.

  • If your rising sign is Scorpio, Pisces is your 5th House.
  • If your rising sign is Sagittarius, Pisces is your 4th House.
  • If your rising sign is Capricorn, Pisces is your 3rd House.
  • If your rising sign is Aquarius, Pisces is your 2nd House.
  • If your rising sign is Pisces, Pisces is your 1st House.

Example

Transit Mercury in Pisces and the Fifth House

Mercury (I Think) in Pisces (I Believe) and the 5th house of love, children, and creativity manifests as vague, romantic thoughts regarding love and romance. The mind can become clouded by feelings of love and romance with this placement making the native susceptible to deception by others, especially those that he or she cares about. You are more sensitive and have trouble defining not only your feelings but the feelings and emotions of those around you.

Nonetheless, the fifth house rules creativity (including our hobbies) and with Mercury transiting the fifth house you can more easily attune yourself to your own sense of creativity. Your hobbies bring your more satisfaction, you (re)discover yourself as an artist and visionary. You are more social and want to have more fun. The fifth house also rules over children -- if you are a parent conversations with your children can be deeper and more loving.  In terms of love, Mercury transiting the fifth house can portend meeting a romantic interest through the internet (mercury rules communication) and that he or she could either be younger than you (in age) or simply young at heart.

New Moon in Aquarius

New Moon in Aquarius

2/4/19 1:04 PM  (PST)
Whole Sign Houses

A New Moon occurs when both the Sun and the Moon simultaneously occupy the same degree of the same sign in the zodiac. As you can see from the above chart, the Sun and Moon both occupy 15 Degrees Aquarius on 2/4/19 at 1:04 PM making this a New Moon.

The Moon Represents What is Happening

Occurring approximately once every 28 1/2 days, new moons denote the end of one cycle and the beginning of a new cycle. New Moons are a great time to initiate any kind of change or to begin attracting anything that is needed or wanted.   Due to the fact that the moon is associated with our emotions, this is often seen as a new emotional cycle.

Some keywords associated with the moon include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • "I Feel"
  • emotions
  • feelings
  • family
  • change
  • instincts
  • reflection
  • imagination
  • subconscious
  • nurturing

Aquarius Represents How it Happens

The Astrological Sign in which the New Moon occurs can indicate how this emotional renewal may express itself. Some keywords associated with Aquarius include:

  • "I Know"
  • detached
  • rebellious
  • erratic
  • original
  • futuristic
  • impersonal
  • altruistic
  • inventive

The Moon in Aquarius

A good way to better understand the Moon in Aquarius is to put these keywords side by side and blend them together. For example

The Moon                 Aquarius

emotions                   detached
feelings                     rebellious
family                       erratic
change                       original
instincts                    futuristic
reflection                  impersonal
imagination              altruistic
subconscious            inventive

So with the Moon in Aquarius, we might be feeling altruistic, yet emotionally detached about the future. We may desire change or freedom but only subconsciously or intuitively know what it is that we want and are willing deviate from the norm to get it.  If we cannot find some way to utilize our creativity and originality to invent the desired change, then we may become restless and frustrated.

The House is Where it Happens

The Astrological House in which the New Moon occurs in your Natal Chart gives an indication of the area of life activated by the New Moon and where you can expect to see the energy of the New Moon in Aquarius to play out. Since the February New Moon occurs in 15 degrees Aquarius, you would look at your Natal, or Birth Chart to ascertain in what House 15 degrees Aquarius occurs.

The Twelve Houses of Life

  1. The self, ego, appearance, initiative, leadership, fresh starts and new beginnings.
  2. Money and material matters.  Your physical environment, income, money, and your sense of self-esteem.
  3. Communication in all its forms (thinking, writing, speaking, etc... ) as well as siblings, local travel, teachers and community events.
  4. Home, privacy, your basic sense of security, your mother, children, and your own ability to nurture others.
  5. Creative expression, drama, attention, love, and romance.
  6. Health and service to others. Your routine, diet, exercise and helpfulness to others.
  7. Marriage, partnerships, and relationships of all kinds.  Contracts, business deals, etc...
  8. Birth, death, sex, other people's money and property.
  9. Expansion, the higher mind, foreign matters (languages, cultures, travel) luck, adventure, risk, philosophy, ethics and morals.
  10. The public, fame, honors, reputation, awards, boundaries, rules, discipline, authority, the father.
  11. Groups of people such as friends and associations, networking, social justice.  Originality, sudden unexpected events, invention, surprises, and all things futuristic.
  12. Endings. Completion, tying up loose ends, old age, karma, making amends, and the afterlife. Imagination, creativity, poetry, and the subconscious mind.

A Practical Example

New Moon in Aquarius and the 4th House

You may feel (the moon) that your home (4th house) looks or appears impersonal (Aquarius) and therefore your house does not feel like a home to you. At the outset of the new moon (ending / new beginnings) you may wish to get a new home or renovate, remodel, or rearrange the home you have. In remodeling or re-arranging your home, you may deviate from traditional design ideas and draw upon your own creativity and inventiveness (Aquarius) so that your home is more reflective of who you are as an individual.

With the moon (feelings and emotions) in Aquarius (detached) transiting the fourth house (home and family) you may feel more introverted and so staying home alone or with your family makes you feel more comfortable than going out out the town. Your familial relationships may become more warm and friendly, you may experience feelings of nostalgia, and feel more motherly and nurturing towards your family and yourself.

A Deeper Look

You can get a good idea of how the New Moon in Aquarius will affect you with this simple technique. However, if you wish to go deeper, then, in addition to the Moon Sign and Natal House you may also wish to look at any aspects the New Moon is making to other planets at the time of the New Moon as well as any aspects the New Moon is making to your natal placements.

Nonetheless, this is another subject entirely and will be the addressed in a future blog post. It is important to remember though that the aspects the New Moon make to the other planets at the time of the New Moon will affect everyone, while the aspects the New Moon is making to your Natal placements will apply only to you.

Where is 15 degrees Aquarius in your chart? How will the New Moon in Aquarius manifest for you?
