  • The Lesson: The New Moon in Taurus reminds us to slow down, appreciate our inner strength, and cultivate abundance by believing in ourselves.

Interpretation

When a New Moon occurs in the sign of Taurus, it's like a cosmic reminder to focus on building stability and comfort in our lives. This translates to a surge of determination and a practical mindset. People tend to become more focused on achieving their goals, particularly those related to security and pleasure. This might involve working hard, saving money, or simply enjoying the finer things in life, like delicious food, beautiful objects, or relaxing experiences.

However, it's important to be mindful of overindulging in these pleasures. While enjoying ourselves is essential, getting too caught up in material possessions or excessive spending can lead us astray from our practical goals. Venus in Taurus (2024)

Venus in Taurus
Natural Chart

Affirmation: I love comfort!

The Lesson: Enjoy all the goodness of life.

Interpretation

When Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and pleasure, finds itself in the grounded and sensual sign of Taurus, a powerful force for indulgence and appreciation takes hold. Here's a breakdown of this astrological influence:

People tend to become more attuned to their senses. They crave the touch of luxurious fabrics, the intoxicating aromas of fine perfumes, and the delightful flavors of gourmet meals. Simple pleasures like a warm bath or a candlelit dinner take on a whole new level of significance.

Romantically, Venusian Taurus seeks a partner who embodies stability and security. Someone who shares their values and provides a sense of groundedness becomes highly attractive. Flingy connections hold little appeal,  replaced by a desire for a deep, committed relationship built on trust and shared goals.

Taking care of oneself becomes a priority. Long bubble baths, relaxing massages, and indulging in beauty routines become expressions of self-love.  Surrounding oneself with beautiful objects and comfortable spaces is key to creating a personal haven that fosters well-being.

Experiences that stimulate the senses and indulge the finer tastes take center stage.  Savoring a perfectly prepared meal, attending a concert, or exploring a museum filled with art are seen as investments in happiness.  The act of creation,  whether it's painting, cooking, or gardening, becomes a way to express love for oneself and the world.

Under this influence, people slow down and appreciate the finer things in life.  They linger over a delicious meal, savoring each bite, rather than rushing through it. They take the time to appreciate the beauty of a sunset or the intricate details of a piece of art. This focus on mindfulness allows them to fully experience the joy present in each moment.

In essence, Venus in Taurus creates a desire to create a life filled with beauty, comfort, and pleasure. It's a time to indulge the senses, prioritize self-care, and cultivate meaningful connections built on stability and shared values.

The Sun in Taurus (2024)

Sun in Taurus

Affirmation: I am determined!

The Lesson: Finding stability and building security in your life.

Interpretation

As the Sun makes its annual journey through Taurus, a shift in our collective energy takes place. We find ourselves gravitating towards stability and security. Patience becomes a virtue, and we're less likely to rush into decisions or actions. This introspective nature fosters a desire to build a solid foundation in all aspects of life.

Taurus, ruled by Venus, the planet of love and beauty, also appreciates the finer things. During this transit, we might prioritize financial security to ensure we can enjoy these indulgences. We might become more meticulous with our budgets, saving and investing for the future. This focus on material security doesn't erase the importance of relationships, but it does highlight the desire for stable partnerships that contribute to a secure and comfortable life.

The influence of Taurus brings a newfound determination to pursue our goals. We become more methodical and persistent, chipping away at our objectives with unwavering focus. This persistence can sometimes be interpreted as stubbornness, but it's a sign of the deep commitment Taurus energy ignites within us.

Beyond financial security, Taurus appreciates all the sensual pleasures life offers. We might find ourselves drawn to beautiful art, delicious food, or luxurious experiences. Mercury in Taurus 2020

Mercury in Taurus
4/27/20 12:53 PM (Pacific)
Natural Chart / Whole Houses

Mercury in Taurus General

When Mercury is in Taurus, our thoughts and speech slow down. We speak and communication more deliberately, determined to get our point across.  Our thinking process, such as how we process and exchange information, becomes more slow as well and we less inclined to change our minds about any subject or matter (Taurus is a fixed sign).  Our thoughts may turn to money and material matters. We may become more fond of what makes us comfortable in terms of the senses such as food, art, music etc...

How Mercury in Taurus Affects You

The house that Taurus occupies in your Natal Chart is the area of life where you will have slow, deliberate thoughts.

  • If your rising sign is Aries, Taurus is your 2nd House.
  • If your rising sign is Taurus, Taurus is your 1st House.
  • If your rising sign is Gemini, Taurus is your 12th House.
  • If your rising sign is Cancer, Taurus is your 11th House.
  • If your rising sign is Leo, Taurus is your 10th House.
  • If your rising sign is Virgo, Taurus is your 9th House.
  • If your rising sign is Libra, Taurus is your 8th House.
  • If your rising sign is Scorpio, Taurus is your 7th House.
  • If your rising sign is Sagittarius, Taurus is your 6th House.
  • If your rising sign is Capricorn, Taurus is your 5th House.
  • If your rising sign is Aquarius, Taurus is your 4th House.
  • If your rising sign is Pisces, Taurus is your 3rd House.

Example
Mercury in Taurus in the 7th House

Mercury in this placement can bring slow, deliberate thoughts about our relationships of all kinds. This might be a period in which we consider our relationships and if we are truly happy and satisfied with them. Mercury in the 7th house can indicate a period of (re) negotiation (mercury rules contracts) in our relationships to fix what may be broken or not working as it should be. We may communicate more with the people in our lives who represent our partners, this can be in business or in romantic relationships. You may find that you communicate better one-on-one with other people rather than with groups of individuals.

Aspects

Aspects, or relationships between planets, is another dimension of astrological interpretation that can be examined. Let us suppose then that you have Mars at 9° Taurus. This would mean that Transit Mars is applying a conjunction to your Natal Mars. A conjunction is a type of aspect in which the urge of one planet blends with the urge of another habit so well that it is difficult to tell them apart. Let us break it down:

Transit Mercury + Conjunct + Natal Mars

I Think + blends with + I act

When transit Mercury conjunct Natal Mars the urge to communicate blends with the assertiveness of Mars. Your communication style is more aggressive now. Consequently you can get into more heavy debates and arguments the short time this aspect is active.  Your words carry more weight and power now, which is good because you may have to defend your stance or opinion on some matter. Even if you are sure of your own opinion, you express yourself with such confidence that you are able to sway people to your way of thinking.

Ruler of the House

The Ruler of the House can also be considered.  Mercury rules both Gemini (air sign) and Virgo (earth sign) so the ingress of Mercury into Taurus will be influenced by they houses that these signs occupy in your natal chart. In this blog entry I will focus on Virgo. To begin, there are two questions you'll need to ask yourself. They are:

  • What house does Mercury Ruled Virgo occupy in your natal chart?
  • What house does Taurus (Mercury in Taurus) occpy in your natal chart?

Let us suppose that Taurus is your 7th house, and that will make Virgo your 11th House. This would be expressed as the ruler of your 11th house is in your 7th house. What this means is that the activities of the 11th house serve the urge or agenda of the 7th house. This could be expressed as "friends, groups, and associations serve marriage, agreements, and contracts."

We can then extrapolate on this statement and say something like "your friends become romantic or business partners. Your friendships have an affect on your relationships (for good or bad). You want your friends to approve of your relationships, or your partner; or you want your partner to approve of your friends and the causes to which you commit yourself."

How will the ingress of Mercury into Taurus manifest for you?

The Sun in Taurus 2020

Sun in Taurus
4/19/20 7:45 AM
Natural Chart / Whole Houses

Sun in Taurus (General)

The Sun shines a light where ever it falls in a chart. When the Sun is in Taurus, people are generally more patient and less inclined to change. Taurus is a fixed sign, so people generally like things to stay the way they are. They are satisfied with the status quo and make the most of what they have.  People are likely to be more practical, more predictable, more jealous, and more materialistic.

Where Taurus is in your Natal Chart is the areas of life that you want to have and maintain. It's usually something that you like just the way that it is and you don't want anything changing that.

Example
The Sun + Taurus + 7th House

The Sun (I am) in Taurus (I Have) in the 7th house of relationship will manifest as patient, kind, and steadfast feelings or attitudes regarding your relationship. While we are inclined to interpret this in terms or romantic or sexual relationships, the 7th house rules relationships of all kind.
With the Sun in Taurus and the 7th house you are satisfied with the state of your relationships and they should be going well. If not, you should see them improve and in the main time you will take a more laid back and passive position in regards to any problems that arise.  You are happy with the state of your relationships and wish to maintain this state of satisfaction.

Aspects

Aspects, or relationships between planets, is another dimensions of astrological interpretation that should be considered. For example, let us say that you have Mars at 9° Taurus then that would mean that the Transit Sun is applying a conjunction to Natal Mars. A conjunction is a type of aspect in which the energy or urge of one planet blends with the energy or urge of another planet so that it becomes difficult to tell the two planets apart. Conjunction are neither a soft (easy) nor a hard (difficult) aspect but is actually neutral and can manifest as either easy or difficult depending on the planets.  Let's break down what this actually means.

Transit Sun + Conjunct + Natal Mars

I Am + Blends With + I Act

When the transit Sun makes a conjunction to your natal Mars it gives a boost to your physical energy and you are eager to initiate new projects. In fact, you need to have a physical outlet, such as sex or exercise,  for all this excess energy or it will build up and you can explode (metaphorically speaking) at any moment. You react more quickly now, especially when you feel that you need to either defend or promote yourself in some way.  You should be wary of not letting your ego get too big.

When the Sun first enters Taurus at 0° two planets are 9° apart but within the 10° orb for a conjunction. As the Sun Moves closer to Mars the stronger the aspect will be felt until it is exact at 9° Taurus and then it will weaken as the Sun passes Mars and moves further away.

Ruler of the House

The Ruler of the House is another dimension of astrological interpretation that should be examined. The Sun rules Leo and whatever house Leo occupies in your Natal Chart and this house will influence the house that Taurus occupies in your natal chart. To better understand this you need to ask yourself two questions. They are:

  1. What house does the Sun Ruled Leo occupy in your Natal Chart ?
  2. What houses does Taurus (Sun in Taurus) occupy in your Natal Chart?
Let us suppose that the Sun is in your 11th House, that would put Taurus in your 7th. It would then be said that the ruler of the 11th house is in the 7th house. What this means is that the activities of 11th house serve the urge or agenda of the 7th house.

How will the ingress of the Sun into Taurus manifest for you?

Venus in Taurus 2020

Venus in Taurus
3/4/2020 7:07 PM
Natural Chart / Whole Houses

Venus in Taurus (General)

Venus (I love) in Taurus (I have) translate to I love to have. The house where Taurus falls in your chart will give an indication of exactly what it is you love to have. For instance, Taurus falls in the second house in the natural chart and so, generally speaking, people love to have nice things, things that are beautiful, things that are of value (such as beautiful works of art, or simply money itself).
How Venus in Taurus Affects You

A planet, such as Venus, describes a specific type of energy. In the case of Venus it is the energy of love. The sign that it occupies indicates how that energy manifests and the house that that sign falls in your natal chart will give an indication of the area of life that will be affected.

In order to determine the house that Mars in Taurus is transiting you look at your birth chart and determine what house aligns with Taurus. For example.

Example
Venus in Taurus and the 7th House
Venus (I love) in Taurus (I Have) in the 7th House of relationships translates to I love to have relationships. Because Venus is said to rule Taurus, it is more empowered in this postion so the urge to be in a relationship can be stronger. You are more patient, sensual, and dependable so relationships that you are already in can improve and reach a new level of commitment and intimacy. If you are single it is possible that you meet a special someone during this time. Because Taurus is fond of comfort and beauty, a person's physical appearance may be more important to you know than usual. Not only do you want a commitment now but you are also ready for it as well.

Aspects Within the Chart

Aspects, or relationships between planets, is another dimension of astrological interpretation that should be considered. First we can look at the aspects between the planets in the transit chart. If you look at the chart above, you'll see that Venus (I love) is also 3 degrees away from Uranus (I rebel) making this an applying conjunction. This would translate to I love to rebel in relationships. This can be an indication of meeting someone who is unusual, or against your usual type or beinig in an unconventional relationship.

Aspect to Your Natal Chart

Next we look for any aspects between transit Venus and one's natal chart. For example, looking at my own natal chart I see that Venus at 0° Taurus is making a square (difficult aspect) to my Natal MC at 10° Leo. A square is a type of aspect in which the energy or urge of one planet is causing friction with the energy or urge of another planet.

Venus + Square + Midheaven (MC)

I love + strains + my reputation

Venus is known as the "lesser benefic" (with Jupiter being the "greater benefic") so a square of transit Venus to one's Natal MC isn't really considered severe or particularly difficult. The positive aspects of Venus, such as charm, attraction, and socializing are enhanced while its negative aspects can bring greater difficulties. This is not a time for selfishness, laziness, dishonesty, or vanity. These negative behaviors can cause problems in your relationships or with your reputation. You may feel a stronger urge for romance or companionship now -- especially physical contact.

Ruler of the House

What house does Venus Rule in your chart? The ingress of Venus into Taurus will have an affect on the ruler of that house. Venus rules both Taurus and Libra. In my own Natal Chart Venus Ruled Taurus is in the 7th House and Taurus is also in my 7th House. So the ruler of my 7th house is also transiting the 7th house. What this means is that the activities of the 7th house will now serve the interest and activities of the 7th house.

This can be translated as "relationships, cooperation, and agreements serve marriage, agreements, and partnerships." We can extrapolate on this statement by saying something along the lines of you treat your relationship like a business or your business like a relationship. You may choose a romantic partner that you can go into business with or you may start a romantic relationship with a business partner.

How will the ingress of Venus into Taurus manifest for you?
