Sun in Cancer(2024)

Sun in Cancer

Natural Chart

Affirmation: I am sensitive!

The Lesson: Prioritize emotional security and nurture your connection to loved ones and home.

Interpretation

The Sun entering the Cardinal Sign of Cancer, kicks of not only Cancer Season but is also the Summer Solstice! Under this transit, people's focus turn inward and they seek to replenish their emotional reserves. Casual social interactions are less appealing and people crave a more deeper connection. They are drawn to the security of home, family, and loved ones. They want to create a sense of emotional security and safety that allows them to flourish.

A conjunction of the Sun and Venus brings a desire for closeness and intimacy, both at home and in our relationships. Expressing affection and vulnerability comes more naturally, and we may find ourselves craving comfort and security. It's a good time to reconnect with loved ones, express appreciation, and create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Sun in Aries (2024)

Sun in Aries

  • Affirmation: I am confident !
  • The Lesson: The lesson of the transit Sun in Aries is to boldly claim your individuality and initiate your own path
Interpretation

Spring has sprung in the astrological world! As the Sun ignites the fiery sign of Aries, a surge of vibrant energy crackles through the zodiac. People are pulsating with boldness – ready to take on challenges and conquer new horizons. This is a prime time to dust off that dream project you’ve been contemplating or champion a cause you believe in.

Enthusiasm runs high under the Aries influence. You might find yourself naturally attracted to competition and rising to meet any challenge head-on. This go-getter spirit is contagious, and you’ll likely inspire others with your infectious zeal.

However, Aries’ fiery nature can be a double-edged sword. Impatience can creep in, urging you to rush through things without proper planning. That “just do it” attitude, while admirable, can lead to impulsive decisions that might backfire later. Remember, even the mightiest ram needs a steady course to reach its destination.

The key to harnessing this potent Aries energy is to find a balance. Embrace your pioneering spirit and take charge, but channel your enthusiasm strategically. Break down your goals into manageable steps and prioritize ruthlessly. By strategically focusing your abundant energy, you can turn your Aries-fueled drive into unstoppable momentum and make significant progress on those new beginnings.

The Seventh House

The Sun is transiting the seventh house of relationships in this chart.  With the Sun traversing the 7th house of relationships in Aries, people may experience a surge of energy in their partnerships. This can manifest as a craving for excitement and a desire for more independence, both within themselves and from their partner. They might find themselves drawn to others who exude these qualities, seeking a dynamic and stimulating connection.

While this influx of energy can be invigorating, it's crucial to be mindful of Aries' inherent assertiveness. Open communication is key during this transit. By expressing their needs and desires clearly, while also being receptive to their partner's, they can navigate this period and ensure a balanced dynamic within the relationship.

Aspects

In this chart the transit Sun in Aries and the 7th house is conjunct Neptune in Pisces and the 6th House and sextile Pluto in Aquarius and the 5th house

This aspect ignites a potent crucible for your relationships. The Sun's fiery presence in the 7th house throws a spotlight on partnerships, stirring a deep yearning for connection and a spark of independent spirit within existing bonds. However, Neptune's dreamy influence, residing in the 6th house of daily routines, can cast a rose-colored filter. There's a potential to be swept away by idealized visions of your partner, overlooking potential issues in your pursuit of a fairytale romance. This can even disrupt your work and daily habits as your focus shifts towards finding "the one."

Yet, amidst this potential confusion lies an opportunity for profound transformation. The sextile between the Sun and Pluto in Aquarius acts as a bridge. Pluto, residing in the 5th house of creativity and self-expression, awakens a potent energy for passionate pursuits. This passionate energy can be channeled into creative endeavors, igniting a fire within you that can then be brought to your relationship. Herein lies the key. By embracing your authentic passions and expressing them fully, you can foster a deeper, more genuine connection with your partner. This shared exploration and transformation can strengthen your bond and create a more fulfilling partnership.

Ultimately, this transit is a potent invitation to delve into the world of relationships. It's a time to be both assertive and open-minded. Acknowledge the risk of getting carried away by idealized versions of your partner, yet embrace the profound opportunity for transformation that lies within. By channeling this passionate energy towards self-expression and shared exploration, you can unlock a deeper level of connection and create a truly remarkable partnership.

Magical Correspondences

  • Affirmation: I am a radiant force of independence, attracting harmonious partnerships that fuel my creative fire. With unwavering determination, I navigate life's challenges with inspired action.
  • Mystic Mantra: With open eyes, I embrace passion's fire. Authenticity ignites, transforming desire.
  • The Lesson: Find a balance between your assertive nature and a more empathetic approach in relationships. It's also a time to tap into your creative power for personal growth and transformation.
  • Colors: Yellow (the Sun); Red (Aries)
  • Tarot Cards: The Sun (Sun and Aries)
  • Element: Fire (Aries)

Crystals

  • Carnelian - Aries is a fire sign known for its passion and drive. Carnelian is a fire element crystal that can amplify these traits while also promoting courage, confidence, and creativity. It can be a great stone to carry during this transit to help you take initiative and assert yourself in your relationships.
  • Amethyst - Neptune in Pisces can bring idealism and a desire for deep connection. Amethyst, a water element crystal, can help navigate these emotional waters by promoting intuition, peace, and spiritual awareness. It can also be helpful for letting go of unrealistic expectations in relationships.
  • Clear Quartz - Pluto in Aquarius encourages transformation and innovation. Clear quartz, a universal crystal, can amplify this energy by promoting clarity, focus, and a willingness to embrace change. It can be a powerful tool for personal growth during this transit.

  • Ylang Ylang - Ylang Ylang essential oil is known for its balancing and aphrodisiac properties. It can be helpful during this transit to promote harmony and connection in your relationships.
How to Use these Correspondences

Think of these correspondences as a list of ingredients you have in your magical cabinet. You can choose as little or as many as you would like to make something magical. Gather these together on your altar in an aesthetically pleasing manner.

For example, you might Anoint a yellow (the sun) candle (Aries Fire) with Lemon Essential Oil and place this inside a circle of lavender flowers with a carnelian next to the candle. You might further decorate your altar with the Sun Card from the Tarot Pack to act as a sort of Prayer Card. You might then light the candle and mediate on the Mystic Mantra or Affirmation while holding the card and then place it under the candle until it burns out.

Later, you might gather these correspondences into a little mojo bag and carry them as you focus on the lesson of the Sun in Aries and the 7th House until the Sun transits into the next sign in approximately 30 days.

The Sun in Aries 2020

Sun in Aries
3/19/2020  8:59 AM PST
Natural Chart / Whole Houses

Sun in Aries (General)

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and so it deals with beginnings and renewal. The ingress of the Sun into Aries marks the transition from Winter to Spring so this is a great time of beginnings of all kinds.  When the Sun is in Aries, people are generally more bold, restless, and enterprising.  They are more inclined to explore, to be contrary, and to be stubborn.

How the Sun in Aries Affects You

In order to determine the house that the Sun in Aries is transiting you look at your birth chart and determine what house aligns with Aries. The house where the Sun is transiting is the area of life where you will feel bolder, more energetic, and aggressive. For example.

  • If your rising sign is Aries, Aries is your 1st  House
  • If your rising sign is Taurus, Aries is your 12th House
  • If your rising sign is Gemini, Aries is your 11th House
  • If your rising sign is Cancer, Aries is your 10th House
  • If your rising sign is Leo, Aries is your 9th House
  • If your rising sign is Virgo, Aries is your 8th House
  • If your rising sign is Libra, Aries is your 7th House
  • If your rising sign is Scorpio, Aries is your 6th House
  • If your rising sign is Sagittarius, Aries is your 5th House
  • If your rising sign is Capricorn, Aries is your 4th House
  • If your rising sign is Aquarius, Aries is your 3rd House
  • If your rising sign is Pisces, Aries is your 2nd House

Example

Sun + Aries + 6th House

The Sun (I am) in Aries (Self ) in the 6th house of health, work, and your daily routine will manifest as aggressive confidence regarding your day to day work and / or health. You feel healthier and may take steps to improve or refine your diet or exercise routines.  You have more energy for exercise and your physical activity in general can see an increase.

Your focus now is also on your work and you want to do a good job. You take more pride in the work that you do. Your ego is tied up in your work, when you don't meet or exceeds your own expectations you feel bad about yourself. However, when you feel you do a great job you feel really good about yourself. Now is a good time to organize your work space for optimum efficiency as well as to improve your work skills.

Aspects

Aspects, or relationships between planets, is another dimensions of astrological interpretation that should be considered. In this case we would look at the aspects between the transit Sun in 0° Aries and those planets in your natal chart.

For example, let us say that you have Saturn in 3° Cancer, which is 93° away from the Sun at 0° Aries making it a square. A square is a type of aspect in which the energy of one planet is creating tension with the energy or urge of another planet.

Transit Sun + Square +  Natal Saturn  =  I am creates tension with I achieve.

With the transit Sun (identity) making a square to Saturn (discipline), you may feel more undisciplined and lack control over yourself. You may feel more insecure and question yourself to the point that you don't feel comfortable making decisions for yourself (especially important ones).  You will need to take steps to overcome feelings of not being "enough".

Ruler of the House

The Ruler of the House can also be considered. The Sun rules Leo so the house that the Sun occupies in your natal char is said to be ruled by the Sun or the Sun is the ruler of the X house. The ruler of X house will have an affect on the activities of the house that Aries is in in your natal chart. For example, let us say that you have Leo in the 10th house and Aries in the 6th house. This would then be stated as the Ruler of the 10th house (the Sun) in the 6th House (Aries). What this means is that the activities of the 10th house serve the agenda of the 6th house. This in turn, can then be translated as "reputation, achievements and your desire for recognition serves daily habits, routines and health".

We can then extrapolate on this statement to better understand the meaning of the ruler of the 10th house in the 6th house. You might say that you build up a good reputation by performing well at work. You may become known as a workaholic and bring a high level of professionalism to your job.

The Sun in Aquarius 2020

Sun in Aquarius
1/20/20  6:55 AM PDT
Natural Chart / Whole Houses

Sun in Aquarius (General)

☼ + Aquarius.svg

The Sun usually enters Aquarius just after the first of the year and so people are usually thinking about their futures, their wishes and their dreams. They may exhibit more original thoughts and ideas and many people will consider making plans for the future to make them so. This is also a time when we consider who we associate ourselves with and will think about surrounding ourselves with like-minded people who can help us achieve our wishes and dreams.

Where Aquarius falls in your Natal, or Birth, Chart is the area of life where you will identify more with your friends, hopes, and dreams in an untraditional manner.

  • If your rising sign is Aries, Aquarius is your 11th House
  • If your rising sign is Taurus, Aquarius is your 10th House
  • If your rising sign is Gemini, Aquarius is your 9th House
  • If your rising sign is Cancer, Aquarius is your  8th House
  • If your rising sign is Leo, Aquarius is your 7th House
  • If your rising sign is Virgo, Aquarius is your 6th House
  • If your rising sign is Libra, Aquarius is your  5th House
  • If your rising sign is Scorpio, Aquarius is your 4th House
  • If your rising sign is Sagittarius, Aquarius is your 3rd House
  • If your rising sign is Capricorn, Aquarius is your 2nd House
  • If your rising sign is Aquarius, Aquarius is your 1st House
  • If your rising sign is Pisces, Aquarius is your 12th House

Example

+ Aquarius.svg + 4th House

I am rebellious, detached, and altruistic about my home and traditions

With the Sun in Aquarius and the 4th house you identify more with unconventional thoughts and ideas regarding your roots and your home as well. This may be a time when you rebel against ingrained thoughts and behaviors passed down to your from your family or roots which may not be healthy or which may not serve your goals in life and your wishes for the future. Instead you forge your own path adopting more progressive attitudes, thoughts, and ideas.

The Sun Aquarius 4th house placement can also manifest as unusual changes occurring in or to your home.  For example, you could have a friend stay with you or you could stay with a friend. Alternately, you may make changes to your home that give it a unique and unusual look.

Aspects

The relationship between transiting planets and planets in one's natal chart is another dimension of astrological interpretation that should be considered. For example, in my own chart the Sun at 0° Aquarius is applying a conjunction to my Jupiter in 2° Aquarius. A conjunction is a type of aspect in which the energies of two planets become so blended that it is difficult to tell them apart.

  ♃

I expand blends with I am

When transit Jupiter makes a conjunction with your natal sun your personality becomes bigger, more jovial, and positive. You can be presented with new opportunities now and you have the confidence to make the most of them, if that is what you choose to do.

Ruler of the House

The 'ruler" of the house is another dimension of astrological interpretation that should be considered. In Astrology, the Sun rules Leo. The house Leo is in in your natal chart is the areas of life that will have an affect on the natal house that the Sun in Aquarius is transiting. For example, in my own chart, the Sun ruled Leo is in my 10th house of career, ambition, and public image. What this means is that activities associated with the 10th House will help fulfill the urge of the 4th house.

Ruler of the 10th House in the 4th House

The urge, or agenda, of the 4th house is to have strong roots, emotional security, and strong emotional ties. Activities associated with the 10th house including having success in your career, building a good reputation, have a good relationship with your bosses, mentors, or parents.

When the ruler of the 10th house is in the 4th house it means that having a successful career, a good reputation, and positive relationships with your bosses, mentors and/or parents is vital for strengthening your roots, allowing greater emotional security, and strong family ties.

This makes perfect sense to me because, as some of you may or may not know, I moved from South Carolina to Washington State in 2006. All my family is in South Carolina, so it is important to me that my family, and especially my mother (4th house) know that I am doing well in my life. My career, and my relationship with my boss (in my muggle job), allows me to have the security of being able to pay my bills, feed myself, and have a certain amount of satisfaction in my life to prove to my family that I am independent and able to take care of myself.

Sun in Leo 2019

Sun in Leo
7/22/19  7:50 PM
Natural Chart / Whole Houses

The Sun (I AM)

In a chart, the Sun indicates where you shine. It represents your own ego as well as your approach to self expression and how you realize your self. The Sun rules Leo; is in detriment in Aquarius; exaltation in Aries; and fall in Libra.

Keywords: authority, confidence, creativity, power, ego, father, hope, vitality, potential, dignity, joy, generosity, extravagance, pride, individuality, recognition.

Leo- (I WILL) is a Fire / Fixed / Masculine Sign ruled by the Sun.

Keywords- Loyal, Loving, Faithful, Confident, Territorial, Affectionate, Generous, Honest, Arrogant, Conceited, Playful, Proud

Sun in Leo (General)

When the Sun is in Leo, people are more interested in fun and less interested in work and responsibilities. They usually spend more time with their friends, socializing, going on dates, or they spend more time on their hobbies.  People can be more extroverted and high on life.  People just want more attention, in general, and they are more likely to stunt on others or be more melodramatic to get that attention.

Where Leo falls in your natal chart is the area of life that is being activated by this Mars in Leo.
  • If your rising sign is Aries, Leo is your 5th House.
  • If your rising sign is Taurus, Leo is your 4th House.
  • If your rising sign is Gemini, Leo is your 3rd House.
  • If your rising sign is Cancer, Leo is your 2nd House.
  • If your rising sign is Leo, Leo is your 1st House.
  • If your rising sign is Virgo, Leo is your 12th House.
  • If your rising sign is Libra, Leo is your 11th House.
  • If your rising sign is Scorpio, Leo is your 10th House.
  • If your rising sign is Sagittarius, Leo is your 9th House.
  • If your rising sign is Capricorn, Leo is your 8th House.
  • If your rising sign is Aquarius, Leo is your 7th House.
  • If your rising sign is Pisces, Leo is your 6th House.

Example

Sun + Leo + 10th House

When we apply our keywords to the Sun (I am) in Leo (I will) and the 10th house of career ambition and profession we can translate this to I am willing to use my focus and energy to furhur my career. When the Sun is in Leo and the 10th house, your focus is on your career, goals, and the direction of your life. You may find yourself torn between wanting to have fun and wanting to work hard to have more accolades and notierity. Your higher ups are definitly giving you the attention (and scrutiny) that you want so you're going to have to be careful that you present yourself as someone who is responsible and mature and who can make the right decisions. It's okay to have fun, to socialize, and engange in your hobbies on your own time --- just don't let it interefere with your work.

How will the Sun in Leo manifest for you?

Sun in Pisces

Sun in Pisces

Sun in Pisces
2/18/19 3:04 PM (Pacific)
Natural Chart / Whole Signs

The Sun (I AM)

In a chart, the Sun indicates where you shine. It represents your own ego as well as your approach to self expression and how you realize your self. The Sun rules Leo; is in detriment in Aquarius; exaltation in Aries; and fall in Libra.

Keywords: authority, confidence, creativity, power, ego, father, hope, vitality, potential, dignity, joy, generosity, extravagance, pride, individuality, recognition.

Pisces (I Believe)

Pisces is a Water / Mutable / Passive (Feminine) sign ruled by Neptune and subruled* by Jupiter.

Keywords: sensitive, dreamer, escapist, isolated, introverted, shy, psychic, romantic, vague, artistic, and creative.

The Sun in Pisces (General)

Pisces is the 12th and last sign of the zodiac, so when the Sun enters Pisces it signals the end of one cycle and the coming beginning of a new cycle ---when the Sun enters Aries. I feel that the ingress of the Sun in Pisces heralds an emotional spring cleaning that precedes the physical one that traditionally occurs in our environment after the Sun enters Aries in late March.

Our interest turns to things of the spirit and our attention turns inward. We become focused on subconscious issues and immerse ourselves in dealing with our emotional baggage. The Sun in Pisces shines the light on the desire to seek out the truth and to be satisfied with what is found in the darkest corners of our psyches. You may find yourself listening more to your intuition as well as paying more attention to your dreams for signs and omens. Your sensitivity to these subtle energies results in heightened empathy and you exercise more compassion not only in dealing with yourself but also those around you.

How the Sun in Pisces Affects You

A planet, such as the Sun, describes a specific type of energy. In the case of the Sun it is the energy of self or ego. The sign that it occupies indicates how that energy manifests. The Sun, the energy of self, in Pisces will manifest as vague, romantic, and intuitive. Finally the house that the planet transits will determine where this energy will manifest in your life.

In order to determine the house that the Sun in Pisces is transiting you look at your birth chart and determine what house aligns with Pisces. For example.

  • If your rising sign is Aries, Pisces is your 12th House
  • If your rising sign is Taurus, Pisces is your 11th House
  • If your rising sign is Gemini, Pisces is your 10th House
  • If your rising sign is Cancer, Pisces is your 9th House
  • If your rising sign is Leo, Pisces is your 8th House
  • If your rising sign is Virgo, Pisces is your 7th House
  • If your rising sign is Libra, Pisces is your 6th House
  • If your rising sign is Scorpio, Pisces is your 5th House
  • If your rising sign is Sagittarius, Pisces is your 4th House
  • If your rising sign is Capricorn, Pisces is your 3rd House
  • If your rising sign is Aquarius, Pisces is your 2nd House
  • If your rising sign is Pisces, Pisces is your 1st House

Example

Transit Sun in Pisces and the Natal 5th House

The Sun (I AM) in Pisces (I BELIEVE) and the 5th House of love, children, and creativity can manifest as vague, romantic feelings about love and romance. The Sun is happiest in the 5th house because this house is ruled by Leo which is also ruled by the Sun. You want to believe that love is possible. You want to believe that you are loved and loving but you have some emotional baggage and / or subconscious blocks that you must confront before you can really enjoy yourself.

On the flip side, you might try to socialize more and surround yourself with people in order to attract more attention to yourself in order to avoid confronting and healing your subconscious issues.  Alternately, you may also take up a new hobby as a distraction from your issues. If you have a history with addiction, such as gambling, you might want to be careful not to fall off the wagon
